Thanks...
Now we are all better off in knowing...
There's a few I actually like, though they could have, added some more personality (for the lack of a better word)...
The "Moto-Laura chan" is rather obvious because of the identifying M (logo).... (that) ....and her large Oppai...
Over all.. not bad representations of the mobile counterparts... well, except for - "that" - one.. ¬_¬
If you mean the illustrations themselves, I think the subtleties are all there. You could see it from their Android badges, how neat they dress, Fuji chan's holding the bow. Chances are these subtleties are lost on us because they're drawn with the Japanese perception in mind. They probably have their own subculture of smartphones, considering how their phones have invaded their lives deeper and earlier than the rest of us. Where else do you think you can see people pay with smartphones as a fact of life? lol
As for the things outside their appearance, you can Google Translate their character description from the site. It refers a lot to the companies, even down to their 'clubs'(service providers: NTT Docomo, AU, Softbank, etc).
Only two things I wonder:
1. Why is Eri-chan's hair not black? Of course, Ericsson was not a Japanese company, but I thought they'd pride themselves with more distinct Jap features. Soon-chan's got purple hair, yeah, but she's supposed to be an idol, lol.
2. How would they play out the recent Samsung/Apple patent wars. They've been trying to sue and counter-sue each other, and yet Samsung is Apple's biggest supplier for its iPhone parts.
