Cosplay Experience thread

  1. So, comiket is here, and comiket means above all, cosplay (also tons of ero-doujinshi)

Since there's no active cosplay thread, I hereby create it. If there's an old one, I don't care. Use this one >_<

So I went yesterday to day 2, and I made my cosplay debut in there. I didn't go to the cosplay plaza though.

Tomorrow I'll be cosplaying as well. Different theme though.

Now, if you have ideas, comments, questions or anything related to the art of cosplaying, discuss it in here. Photos of cosplayers are not the topic of this thread, unless some specific technique is being analyzed or something like that.

    ======

    Actually... there is one... however...

Keep this one going, since you have (subtly) demanded it, and its more centred on this years event and what your doing...

    Note:
DO NOT LINK back (nor NECRO) to the older one...

  3. Even if there's another thread, I'd like this one to focus more on -doing- cosplay, rather than -watching- cosplay.

So I was in the mens changing room, and some 80-90% are crossdressing. Putting on skirts, fake boobs, even some changing into shimapan and the like. That was quite an unusual view ^^

Since I'm so novice, I'll be asking here lots of things, because I really want to do something more serious for the summer comiket.

  4. I cosplayed Lelouch. It did not turn out that well. Since I had an afro also I did not have the right frame. Over all it was a good experience. I am going for Simon from Durarara or go for Altair from Assassins Creed. Those should be easier to pull off.

http://donyea.imgur.com/all/ - my album of my last cosplay.

  5. I dressed as Ash Ketchum when I was 10 for halloween.

  6. I have cosplayed several character for many years, as well as assisted my son, while he wanted to portray some rl accurate military uniforms that he wanted to have created for Halloween.

I have made several for him and now he's out grown them, as well as the cosplay hobby itself.

I (still) have plans to continue to cosplay several - "age appropriate" - characters, however, they're (still) in the planning stages.

Even one where I am to attend a Halloween wedding in the coming year...

  7. I only ever got to cosplay during Halloween a few times; as Mario when I was 7, as William Wallace when I was 8, and Higashi Joe this year.
My Joe costume was kind of shitty since I didn't actually buy material for the head band (I cut up a T shirt), and I am not that muscular. My hair was also just a bit too short for the look.
I really enjoyed my past experiences (or at least what I can remember of them), and I wish I had the opportunity to do so more often.

I've been to bronycon so I know what this experience is like.

  9. Going as either Yosuke or Protag for a con that's happening in a few days.
Need to figure out how to paint my hair or style my hair depending on which one I choose.
