Then again, I have never lived in China, so I may be off from the truth.
You don't have to live in China to know that there are two sides to everything.
I haven't stepped foot into any Chinese territories. At the same time, I still read all these Chinese 'news'. Just like the stuff I read from United States, Japan, UK, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, etc. Hell, read your local newspapers and you'll see sad shit every week in your own backyard; domestic violence, corrupt officials accused in court, shoddy business deals using taxpayers money that lead to nowhere.
Shit happens everywhere, in one way or another.
I'm just saying that the OP shouldn't feel too butthurt about Sankaku Complex being what it is. I'm sure Chinese media themselves would jump at every high school shooting case or how Eurozone's leaders are doing the best they can to kiss China's ass so they'd fund Euro's way out of the economic depression(while arguably having a difficult time convincing local voters that they're not kissing anyone's ass). Besides, Sankaku Complex is not New York Times; people read about a misfortune, BAWWW or troll about it for 3 days then forget everything except when they need to joke about it once in a while.
