Hello,i'm from china. I found a problem.

Then again, I have never lived in China, so I may be off from the truth.

You don't have to live in China to know that there are two sides to everything.

I haven't stepped foot into any Chinese territories. At the same time, I still read all these Chinese 'news'. Just like the stuff I read from United States, Japan, UK, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, etc. Hell, read your local newspapers and you'll see sad shit every week in your own backyard; domestic violence, corrupt officials accused in court, shoddy business deals using taxpayers money that lead to nowhere.

Shit happens everywhere, in one way or another.

I'm just saying that the OP shouldn't feel too butthurt about Sankaku Complex being what it is. I'm sure Chinese media themselves would jump at every high school shooting case or how Eurozone's leaders are doing the best they can to kiss China's ass so they'd fund Euro's way out of the economic depression(while arguably having a difficult time convincing local voters that they're not kissing anyone's ass). Besides, Sankaku Complex is not New York Times; people read about a misfortune, BAWWW or troll about it for 3 days then forget everything except when they need to joke about it once in a while.

  2. OP just need to understand that, while other country had their own shit to take care off, their shit just aint that interesting compared to China.

We love your shit China, it may not be as stinkier as Mexican/Columbian drug cartel or African death/rape rate per minute, it certainly had better woaw factor than other shit we have seen so far

Indeed. A chair exploding and raping you up the ass? Tragic but also funny at the same time. In China everything goes boom.

  9. Most of the non-anime related news is unflattering of the countries concerned. A good deal of the Japan news is critical towards both otaku and general Japanese culture, so I'm not convinced claims that we are biased towards Japan or against China have any viable basis. We obviously are biased against corrupt and repressive authoritarian governments or criminal businesses, which is a different issue to being "anti-Chinese."

Japan itself scarcely has any foreign policy, and beyond complaining about whaling, their failure to endlessly kowtow to Korea and China, "sexism" or their racism towards their tiny population of foreigners, there is really not much negative material about Japan in the mainstream international press either. People would undoubtedly (and demonstrably) prefer to hear about their sex crimes.

I should also point out that the site is not well liked amongst some segments of 2ch for focussing its Japan related news almost exclusively on the nation's varied and interesting sex crimes.

"News" as a narrative genre has always been strongly slanted towards providing these kinds of negative stories.

What people think of as news is generally scandalous, criminal, abhorrent, bizarre, titillating, or outrageous (neatly covering most of Sankaku's coverage, as well as most mainstream news outlets - just look at the Daily Mail or Bild).

The reason is simply because people are psychologically inclined to seek out and respond to such stories, not to stirring tales of China's magnificent record in lifting herself out of poverty. China also looms large in the popular psyche of the west, so naturally there is a highly receptive audience for stories about it.

Finally, modern China still has no real culture worth speaking of (and no, it doesn't). When it has its own vibrant cultural output of anime, games, and manga, as well as titillating materials, you can expect to see us covering it in great detail.

  10. I think another problem is that, its like talking about the Holocaust, its much easier to find bad things to talk about than the good deeds that people did. Also, with a population that big, its hard to avoid the bad especially with the current conditions.

From time to time, the China news does sting quite a bit, I myself find it offensive sometimes. I just see it as every countries has their own share of bad apples to deal with, though some chose to sweep it all under a rug.

  15. Is the original poster maybe a Chinese person who found a way past the Great Firewall? Sankaku doesn't seem like the kind of site that people would be allowed to access in China.

Don't think their government care, news of explosions and the likes are already leaked outside and inside China if they appear here, and there are alway ways to get past the Firewall.
