I somehow doubt it. True, some parts of London are absolute shitholes and barely recognisable as a developed country, but some parts of it are really quite nice. London has everything you could ever ask for except a decent university.
And living in the south-east but outside of London and Essex is god-tier.

yeah everywhere has it's good and bad parts just with London there's a lot more bad than good and if you want to live in the good parts you need to be pulling 30K+ p/y down.

I have to disagree, Newcastle is definetly a better place to live than London. Better Football team for a start.

Given all the opportunities available in the south-east of England, anyone with a triple figure IQ and a modicum of ambition can easily earn that much.
But the North is fine if you're easily satisfied and not the ambitious type, I suppose.
