Nintendo 3DS Gets Sudden, Massive Price DropBoy, those 3DS sales sure fell off a cliff. So much so that Nintendo has instituted one of the swiftest and deepest price cuts for a handheld in recent memory.
The 3DS only went on sale earlier this year for $249, but as of August 12, it'll be slashed all the way down to $169.99. That's...wow.

That is... Painful, since I bought it at launch. Though I got for around $100 so meh.
I don't believe it. Maybe $199 for the Christmas season, but $169? And existing owners get free games? Unprecedented.
And what about the DSi? Curently at $149, it will need a similarly drop to move stock. What the hell is Nintendo smoking?

i tried play it once on local store...
just 5mins and my eyes is straining too much try to focus on the 3d image
making me feel like it contribute toward lazy eyes symptom
most parents would probably not gonna buy this for their kids either..
which contribute even more toward the low sales figure

170 is an offer no one can pass up. Nintendo was being fair, perhaps generous, with 250.
I'm going to pass it up ... a gimmick handheld with no games ... no reason to even consider it.

Yeah but buying the 3DS and then turning off the 3D after 10 minutes, don't you see a problem with that?

You don't even know what that word means.
Well look. If you turn the 3D off, you're still left with a great console that's bound to get a great lineup (it's already fairly neat as it is), with better graphics than the DS, more processor power than the DS, better online capabilities than the DS, at the price of a DS.
