Also, I always thought the "Friendship is Magic" part of the title was some random kiddy blabber. Turns out it plays a huge part in the story.

The older version was much cleaner and were kept at so an infant can enjoy it, much like Dora the Explorer. This new modern version is more suited for an older audience of kids. The level of enjoyment of this cartoon is almost to par of those in Nickelodeon, which are very popular now.

I suggest watching as little as 3 episodes if you wanna get into it. First 2 as introduction. 3rd to give you a taste of how the show's gonna be like.
If you still don't like it. Well... fuck... I dunno, but I doubt you wouldn't. ..Hopefully...
