Could it all be a hoax/publicity stunt?

  1. I'm looking at the article on the guy that spent $110,000 on a shit ton copies of the same single CD and it begs the question, could it be just a publicity stunt paid/made by the record company or the publicity agency of the artist?

Looking at other articles I can see some that look legit. The obsessive fan buying tons of useless shit with the family credit card, because his parents have no balls (as they are Japanese and can't say no and won't slap some sense in their kids).

But this one seems a bit much. If he's a hikikomori/neet then what? did he drained his parents savings account or mortgaged the house or maxed out his dads american express?. Lets say he does have a job, its the same.

idk, am I the only one who thinks perhaps some of those extreme otaku that make the news for buying a shit ton of the same could just be a piece staged to drive sales up?

  2. He could make a lot of money, well enough to save that much. Since he lives in a crappy house. It's probably stage ( I hope it's staged).

  3. It's quite possible. Where the fuck else is that weirdo going to get all that money.

  4. Don't judge his wealth by his home, alot of poor people in america aren't actaullyt poor but distributing their money for the food, games, phones, shoes, radios, and other stuff they want now, instead of investing in more practical things like homes in decent neighborhoods.

This reasoning is why i'm not surprised every time artefact writes about how he is amazed that the otaku in crappy little apartments or their parents rooms can afford such expensive stuff.

If you live alone, pay few to no taxes and only buy what you wantt with the occasional need you'll find that you have a lot more money than you would have expected, that is ofcourse until it runs out and your blaiming the government and economy for making you poor.

For all who wish to challenge my opinion, i have no statistics or evidence whatsoever to back my claims, so troll away :)

  6. I think he's a reseller. None of the copies are open and if he owns a store then he would have paid wholesale or got them on credit. He got them by the casefull, what store would sell them by that amount?

But there's no way he bought them all himself.

  7. ^that would make sense, and yes I doubt any store would sell cds by the shit ton box

Pretend your dead? or live with your parents? Though that would mean he doesn't have a job.

Oh, I suppose that's true. At least one article on the main page mentioned people claiming their dead (grand)parents' pension, after all.

That is the mostly likely explanation other then him being completely crazy.
But still that is a lot of stock that may not move quickly.

  14. you know where it comes from - 2ch
that guy is a 99.999999999% troll
you can make speculations like people did about Madoka, but he's a troll so just consider his story as fake
we can't know how it really was, from where the CDs come, if he really bought them, if he really paint 110k...
but one think is definitely for sure, it's a fake in one or other way

  15. Like I said on the main page, this guy is either a store owner or a reseller, cause look at it this way, even if your a obsessive psychopath, theres no way you would go out of your way to buy the same thing in that bundle. Then again humans are dangerous beings and we don't really know.

  16. I'm seriously hoping no one here truly believes everything they see on the internet.

Kids freaking out on Youtube is just too easy to fake.
And some otakuness just looks too attention grabbing oriented.

  17. is this even worth debating/discuss for?
    obviously it's fake
