Alright. I've been tooling this problem around to god knows how many other forums and Q&A sites and I always get a similar response; stop caring so much about it. So I figured I'd take my business to a place where people may just take the question seriously...or maybe you guys'll just try and troll me...eh, can't blame a guy for trying.
Alright, so here's the deal. I've been writing a story for a while now and I've just recently filtered out any material potentially copywrited by Ken Akamatsu (RECOVERING FANFIC-WRITERS UNITE!) when I began to notice something about the descriptions of my characters: Long, brown hair and blue eyes for the main character, short, blonde hair and green eyes for the best friend character, and long black hair and red eyes for the female lead/love interest. After struggling for a moment with the question of why these characters looked so familiar, it dawned on me; save a couple minor differences, the characters looked exactly like me, my best friend, and my best friend's girlfriend respectively...awkward, to say the least.
Now,it's bad enough that this is weird to the point of complete distraction from my work, but a close friend of mine has agreed to sketch up a cover for the story in a week's time, and after seeing the character designs, he'll undoubtedly connect the dots and brand me as a creeper attempting to steal a friend's girl and, thus, an enemy of men everywhere.
Bearing in mind that this was all completely unintentional (the characters' personalities couldn't be more different from the people they look like), I've found myself stuck trying to come up with vastly different character designs with absolutely no create energy left to do so. This is where you guys come in. I need anyone who's interested to read over the following characters' personalities and tell me what they think the characters' hair and eye color should be (switching that up will be the quickest and easiest way to destroy any connection between the people and characters). I appreciate any and all help that actually IS helpful. Thank you all.
Character A (Ditzy/Slacker): This character spends most of his time in a kind of semi-aware, laid back stupor, wandering through life without a care in the world. Though he has a tendency towards sudden, playful bursts of energy, they do little towards his work ethic, and, as such, he has a nasty habit of side-stepping his problems. However, his wavering mind does have one major benefit; he tends to view things with remarkable clarity, often noticing simple solutions for seemingly complex problems. In addition, this also causes him to pursue tasks with single-minded determination, and when he really applies himself to something, his levels of innate talent and dedication are nothing short of astounding.
Character B (Teaser): Hot blooded and somewhat sadistic, she has a habit of getting bored easily, and is constantly searching for entertainment, most often in the social lives of others. She will sway between warm agreeability and caustic mockery at whim, and, as such, can never quite be trusted. In addition, she has a bit of a temper, and, when sufficiently provoked, will drop into a violent, frantic rage that will not subside until the target of her fury has been pulverized into a fine powder. It's hinted that she may actually have a softer side to her, though it's unclear whether or not this is genuine.
Character C (Academic/Voice of Reason): Probably the most mature of the group, he has made it his business to hold the other two together and ensure they stay out of trouble. Aloof, but generally very kind and generous, he has a tendency to get exploited frequently, though his stubbornness and sharp mind tends to keep said abuse from going too far. While he prefers to resolve conflicts peacefully, he fails to adapt quickly to change, and when his wit fails him the first time, he will almost certainly resort to force to solve the problem (interestingly, he seems naturally more physically inclined than mentally, not that you could convince him to change his ways). He's a man who sticks by his morals, and never compromises, even in the face of oblivion.
They also have elements associated with them, Char-A being, Char-B being Fire and Char-C being Earth.
