     You can just download the US version.
     I play on it, and there really isn't any lag due to it.

     Try setting the graphics to 'Fast' and turn off enhancements.
     There's also some mods in the forum that increases your fps.

     That's not the problem. I can run Portal 2 on all High settings with no lag, but Minecraft can take up to three seconds to refresh the screen.

     When using windows set the compatibility to windows 2000 or xp.
