Let's discuss the actual question of the thread.
Why do all of these artist get praises.
For one, it's because they create interesting stories with likeable characters that the reader can care about. In other cases it's because the art is so detailed or so realistic that you aren't quite sure if it's a picture or a painting.
Take Takehiko Inoue for example. That man can fucking draw, no doubt about it. Not only that, he can make stories for said art that gets praised, 20-30 years after it was made.
Or let's take Eiichiro Oda. Sure, some people might not stand the style, even I laughed at it when I began. But he knows how to fit the art style to the tone of the story and to the comic. Why draw a realistic character when the comic i itself is goofy and out of this world? But let's not also forget that the man can draw. The exotic sceneries that just make you drop your jaw is something to praise, in my opinion.
