Any recommended animes out there?

  1. Hey everyone! My folder of anime that is usually filled with anime is slowly decreasing :( and now I'm not sure of what animes to download ... does anyone have any recommendations?

    Something totally different:
You can keep track of the anime you watch on:

  3. If you haven't seen "Major" already, do it! Great animation, great music & sound and a really good story! Oh yeah, the whole thing is about baseball and it somehow makes it interesting!

  5. How about "Kurohitsuji" or "Chaos:Head"? That can be a change for someone. I watch "Major" before and it's surprisingly good, and the story not so boring.

I notice a distinct lack of Excel Saga and NOIR on that list. Both are highly recommended.

    Needs more Ghibli as well.

Why did you drop Eureka SeveN? It's a great anime. Watch all 50 episodes before judging it.

You gave Lucky Star a 5? Genshiken a 6? How did you justify that score? What didn't you like about it? Did all the japanese culture fly straight over your head? I don't get how people score shows.

You gave Aria a 10, I agree with that score so I'm sure you can sit through other slice-of-life shows.

    Honey and Clover
    5 Centimeters Per Second
    Beck
    Dennou Coil
    Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight
    Hidamari Sketch
    Kamichu!

    Legend of the Galactic Heroes
    Gankutsuoh
    Great Teacher Onizuka
    Macross Frontier
    Turn A Gundam
    Darker than Black
    Xam'd
    Black Lagoon
    Baccano!
    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

It'd be a lot more helpful if you gave us some genres you like or what you like to see in a show. If length is a factor, character development, etc.

  12. If you don't mind a little CG, then there is Karas I can recommend for you.

There is also Kara no Kyoukai. It's a movie, which is still on-going with I think seven parts altogether. The title is based on a VN by type-MOON. So if you liked Shingentsutan Tsukihime, which I couldn't spot in your list ^^, you can give it a try and see for yourself.

Then there are titles like Honey&Clover, Bamboo Blade, Ergo Proxy or Baccano! which comes to my mind if it's about anime being "totally different".

  14. Good lord you've seen/are watching a lot.

Apparently a lot of people have completely ignored your list as they're posting animes you've seen already... >_> Or they're just lazy.

The only one I can think of to recommend that isn't on that list is Baccano! Which I see has been recommended by Ix in here already. Another vote for that! Brilliant anime.

  15. Personally, I don't think we'll be of any help..., if I were you I'd go to MAL, AniDB or any other DB-site and just cruise around using tags and stuff to get to similar things I haven't seen yet and just add everything that you'll find even a little bit interest into a giant wish list.

You've seen about 200 animes, right? Go beyond the more mainstream suggestions we give you and find pure gold!
