I know 90% of rap is about the hood and they probably can't relate to that lifestyle in japan but I was wondering if they have their own style of rap. I've seen some hip hop opening songs and ending songs for anime but never a rap-theme song. I tried finding this out on my own but sadly my internet-searching skill is limited to... wikipedia.

There's some great rap in Japan. Some of the older stuff is pretty shitty, but the more recent stuff (like in Bleach, etc. ED/OP's) is awesome.

RIP SLYME were a lot more lyrically driven than conceptually playful before the got SU and that other dude to join. I'm assume you've heard super shooter so you know them if so.
Put like Rock, Rap is still not incredibly popular there. Things are getting better, but it seems if you don't got a pop angle on your sound, you have to work pretty hard for recognition.

We have a lot of Chinese niggaz here in NYC. ABCs(American Born Chinese) as they are called are at a large number in Brooklyn and Manhattan, a good portion of them adapt parts of my native culture, but exhibit the worst of it as well. Arrogance is a prominent for niggaz...and boy do the tend to be just that.
