Did you mean, "as of yet in this thread?" Then yeah, I can see that.

I'm also really big into John Grisham, having read every fucking one of his books, and only disliking "Bleachers" and "The Appeal".

A Time to Kill had that passion that you just don't see in many books these days.

  3. For fiction, lately I've been reading Lovecraft. I won't bother trying to create a list of my favourite authors/favourite books as others have done, but I will say that I tend towards fantasy and science fiction. I think I'll have to say that I haven't encountered as many quality authors/books in fantasy as I have science fiction, but I can blame Clarke, Asimov, and Heinlein for that, as they make up the vast majority of my science fiction reading, while I've never found fantasy equivalents (Tolkein creates enjoyable worlds, but his works are too dry for my modern tastes).

I love that book. I always read that, and The Cask of Amontillado together.

  6. If you haven't read this (in the original; no translations!), you don't know shit about Western literature.

It opens you up to the finest literary canon in the world, and its a great language in itself.

Maybe if you really like Greek Philosophy, alas, German is probably more important for philosophers to learn nowadays.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't that Latin? Shouldn't the original be written in Ancient Greek?

Anyways, dystopian novels are usually my favorite kinds of books, so I'd say Orwell's 1984 and "Brave New World" are probably two of my favorite books.

The cover is in Latin. So are the forewords and notes. The actual text is Greek. The OCT has stopped doing this now, but until very recently, there wasn't any English in any of the book, except for the page that tells you about the copyright information. Apparently, editors can't write Latin any more :-(

Then again, all philosophy is shit tier.

    That depends on your philosophy.

No, it's shit tier. When philosophy ceases to be shit tier, it becomes science.

Ha ha. I should've added a humour tag, but failing to do so was worth it for your response. You sir, have succeeded at amusing me.
