I'd rather a game where the main character is the child. It might actually be somewhat intense, somewhat memorable, but no. Nobody wants to be innovative with a genre. It's all about coping and pasting in today's gaming industry.
Call me when some indie developer does something more noteworthy. *grumble*

Gameplay
Dead Island will feature open world gameplay, played from a first person perspective, with up to four-player co-operative play. The focus will be on melee combat, incorporating customizable weaponry and RPG elements.
There is an experience system and a skill tree system. One person begs the character to go outside and help a lone person fending off the horde. The character then picks up a lead pipe and walks outside.[5]looks like they are trying to make it like gta4 with zombie i think,
