  1. 400 Euro CPU. 800 Euro GPU.
What are you planning on doing with it. Running a secret ops to throw Putin of his throne?

  2. The advances in computer hardware is clearly slowing down in this time. It will enough for a long time. What will happen next is unknown. I stocked up like a hamster. Now I can comfortably play in DCS, Arma 3 and Witcher 3. The more I had to put somewhere rubles. To buy dollars too late. And prices have not increased yet. It's better than if tomorrow rubles turn into a pumpkin.

p.s. I bought my last pc in 2010.

A €400 CPU is indeed expensive in my opinion, and since Intel is dominating with high-end CPUs, we cannot do much about it. My Intel i7-5960X cost me around $999 (~€870)... I do not regret it, but one must take into consideration the cost of the rest of the computer as well.

Would have gotten AMD's graphics card R9 Fury X ($650) had it not been such a disappointment.

Oh yes, not to forget the HDDs I got even more recently for storing things: 5×WD Red (6 TB)

Quality things are expensive, but it's not worse than when people spend money on their hobbies like fishing, RC cars/planes, etc.

  6. Ya gonna watercool it? Might as well with the money you're spending.

Nice hardware :) Nice big fat heatsink too. I've always preferred oversized aircoolers myself, they look nice and there's awfully little that can go wrong with them.

My cable management sense is tingling though. There should be a hole next to the powersupply to route the cables behind the motherboard / out of sight. Like they've done in this video

Of course not always possible when the cables aren't long enough but if it is you may want to rewire things a bit :) for better airflow and whiney people like myself ;)

As long as you're not trying to squeeze 4k out of it then you should be able to play everything silky smooth for quite a while.

  10. Thank you. Yea, cables are not very long I think. But may be late I will try to do it like in this video.
    I do not have 4K LCD else...just tested it in 4K, he-he.

during test in 4k CPU temp was 70C and GPU was 69C. I think it's ok and PC does not need more fans.

  11. 70*C CPU temp? Is it overclocked? That's high. My CPU doesn't get above 50~ with my Coolermaster CPU cooler.

  12. Hmm, nope, just 4.0 GhZ. Maybe it's because half-passive cooler without CPU fan. It takes air just from fan from back of hull. As I know all that before 84C it's ok.

    p.s. 50C in 3dmark? >.>

If the cooler allows it I'd mount it 90° turned and get a big output fan at the top, using thermodynamics (aka hot air rises) along with a big fan in the top.
I believe that's how I did it for my girlfriend in a rather similar case (The original NZXT Phantom rather than the 530) with the fan in the back actually blowing cool air in instead of out.
She's getting some very nice temperatures with that :)

Up to you though, 70°c is high but not crazy high. If that's a hot summer day temperature under maximum load I wouldn't be too worried. On the other hand considering the size of that cooler it does sound rather high and could probably be improved.

Did you do a complete bottom-to-top airflow (with fans in the bottom) plus that intake fan at the back or did you put intake fans front and back plus the outtake at the top so that the hot air basically gets squeezed out?

Mmmh neither quite as you describe it :)

By default the 'old' Phantom comes with 2 sidefans, 0 front fans, 1 top fan and 1 rear fan. Flipped the rear fan to suck fresh air in and added one extra NZXT FS200 fan at the top.
So basically 3x 120mm sucking it in vs 2x 200mm blowing it out.

Don't think her CPU ever passed the 50°c mark with a cheap but effective Cooler Master 412S CPU Cooler.

  16. Got my old computer to work. Turns the graphics card was just not fully in the socket for some reason.

    This computer sucks.

  17. Yea...what is better fan in the bottom (bottom-to-top airflow) or top output fan in my hull? I think top output...120 or 140..

Let's see, you have the 530 which according to Silverstone is:

    "Front 2x140mm/ 120mm or 1x200mm (1 x 200mm included)
    Rear 1x140mm (included) / 120mm
    Bottom 2x120mm
    Side 1x140mm
    Top 2x200mm/ 140mm or 3x120mm
    Interior 1x120mm/140mm"

That's kinda cheap, they only give you 2 fans by default? The old Phantom came with 4.
What I would do is move the front fan to the top and flip the rear fan. I'd also be very tempted to fill up either the bottom or side slot to ensure the graphics card is getting some air to breathe.

  19. ya it has 2 fans by default (front and rear). And max CPU temp 70C.

If I'll set fan at PSU under videocard. Wii it ok?
