Meeting Anime & Manga Celebrities

  1. If you had the chance to meet anyone from the world of anime & manga production, who would it be? Be it a seiyuu, mangaka, director, or any other personality.

Would you take a photo with them or have them sign their autograph?

Alternatively, if you've met such a celebrity, tell us your story?

I'd love to meet Tiffany Grant, voice of Asuka Langley Sohryu, and have her sign one of Asuka's pictures from my copy of Der Mond (art book of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto).

  2. Nyahaha.

I met Dai Sato two summers ago in an Anime production program at the Japan Society in NYC.

A lot of my friends now, I know from that program. :3 Most of us are now trying to get into animation and such, to in a way make him proud~

My mom took a photo when the course ended. It's gotta be somewhere...

  3. This is interesting...

Personally, and this is no surprise to those who know me, I would like to meet..

Tae Okajima (who is also known as Soyogi Tōno)

Though she's - "the voice" - for Kotonoha Katsura, she is also known for the following voices:

    Hapihapi Clover as Meru
    Strawberry Panic as Mizuki Takakura
Da Capo II as Anzu Yukimura
    Aki Sora as Kana Sumiya
Shin Koihime Musō as Chōkaku / Tenhō
Yosuga no Sora as Motoka Nogisaka

I wouldn't mind a photo with her and if (possible) would sign a copy of a case cover for the SD Game or the (now hard to find) OOP Artbook filled with Kotonoha images, (even) a personally chosen artwork of the Waifu for signature.

  4. I'd love to see Hynug-Tae Kim, as one of my major artist. Most likely not in the order; meet, hump, rape, kidnapp and force to draw. On a smaller scale I'd love to meet some pro comic artist that live in my state but that won't happen unless I become a pro myself >.<

  5. I would like to have the Author and original artist of the Manga of:
Naussica of the Valley of the Wind.

Autograph one of my first run copies of the fore mentioned title.

Before he passes on. Though it'll prolly never happen, the man is reeely old.

    So Miyazaki.

I would like to chat with Makoto Shinkai if I had the chance. Same with Jun Maeda and Ryukishi07.

As for people I have met; only person I can recall is Nabeshin.

  7. There are a lot of anime and manga (and game) people I'd like to meet (both professional and amateur). However, I see little value in meeting any of them before I learn Japanese. Simply meeting them and getting an autograph or a picture with them isn't something that would satisfy me. I'd much rather be able to have an actual conversation with those people.

  10. Katou Kazue, mostly known for her shounen series Ao no Futsumashi...She's one of my idols among mangaka, I would ask her to show me how to draw proper male faces - though in real I couldn't go further as asking for an autograph I would be so nervous XD

I didn't meet her personally, but a friend got her to sign an End of Evangelion poster for me back in the day... of course, my friend also didn't know that I'd never heard Tiffany Grant's voice before (I still haven't, since I can't stand english dubbed anime). I might see if I can dig the poster up and snap a picture of it for you.

  19. I've gotten autographs from a few english voice actors. Almost have all the Slayers cast.

What I really want is to see more live concerts. I've seen Kanon Wakeshima, Naomi Tamura, Minori Chihara, and Becca. I want moar! Namely Nana Mizuki. I wish I could've seen Stereopony when they were at AnimeNext last year. But I missed it.

I wanna see Aya Hirano. No need to meet her face to face. A panel or something would be sufficient. I think I'd be too nervous to take a picture w/ her. Autograph possibly.
