  1. Towards the end of my Junior year in college I started to leave my dorm room less and less. It got to the point where I would either:

    A) Steal food from my suitmates
    B) Order food
    C) Get food late at night (2am)
    D) Skip eating

I can only imagine how much money I wasted by eating food from off-campus locations when my meals on-campus were free. However it's starting to happen again now that I'm living on my own in an apartment, I just order food when I could just as easily (and more cheaply) go to a cafe or buy something at a store. I just really want to avoid people... even back in college it felt like everyone was watching me while I ate in the dining hall.

  2. I voted yes, though i now live with my parents.
reason is that whenever i was home alone for one reason or another, i avoided cooking or went for food outside. i love to cook for people and hear from them "meh you're the chef" so me e-penis rises over 9000, but cooking for me alone is so sad i can't bring myself to do it for too many times in a row. either i find people to cook for, or i starve/have only junk food.

  3. This sounds so much like me when I first moved out of my childhood home. I often only had a single meal a day then, though. Mostly too busy sleeping, and when I wasn't sleeping, I was writing and wasting time drawing aka avoiding people. My eating habits really never became a problem, until I started working...And even then, it was still hardly more than a single meal a day. And Oftentimes, I would only get hungry late at night.

Now, however, if I don't eat, I get severely scolded. And then lovingly attended to...

    So do my hikkimori tendencies affect my eating habits? Well...they would...if I had a choice. ;_;

  4. I live with my parents. Dinner isn't effected, but I only grab a sandwich or fruit for breakfast or lunch.

  6. I live with my parents right now (summer), but when I am at college I usually go grocery shopping or eat out with friends, so I guess I really don't have any hikikomori tendencies.

  7. My supermarket delivers to my house from online ordering, so no. Also I have always had dinner at about 12-2am. I rarely sleep more than 3-4 hours on a college day anyways due to going to bed at silly times and eventualy getting used to small amounts of sleep.

  9. Not so much the apartment, as the house. I live with my parents but they're never home. I only go shopping once a week, and that's only because I have to. I've gone several days without eating more than one meal between them before because I hate leaving the house...

I'm slowly getting better, forcing myself to get over fear of driving and strangers, but it still effects what I do and don't do. I never get fast food, because I can never look at the person at the desk to order from them, and if my order is wrong I just eat it anyway because I can't talk to strangers without feeling the need to run as fast as I can. It's probably better for my health anyway, but like another poster I grab a sandwich or fruit for breakfast or lunch a great deal of the time...

It's probably why my GPA slipped to a 2.0 and I had to quit going to college. :\

... I just checked my local supermarkets website and they deliver. I'm new to this city (Bismarck, North Dakota) so I never really thought about ordering online. You've just revolutionized my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ritter's fine without a girlfriend. There's nothing wrong with being single. Though I'm sure we'd all rather if he had a few associates to at least meet up with occasionally.

Though I feel bad assuming Ritter doesn't have any friends.

Well being as I just moved to North Dakota about five months ago, I haven't met anyone outside of the work place (None of them share any common interests with me, and I'm the youngest employee by atleast fifteen years). So, it is true that I don't have any friends (atleast ones I can see in person). And finding a girlfriend? Ha. I've got better luck winning the lottery.

You're right. But isn't that the point? When someone wins the lottery, they usually weren't rich to begin with. To assume you're the best bachelor, appropriately finding women at every step is meaningless. It just desensitizes the moment that you find the person who can wholesomely stand to be around you - and you them.

You'll find a girlfriend, when you find a girlfriend. Until then, whatever keeps you alive, and moderately happy, is enough, no? As life is the journey, and this stuff sounds pretty corny. :3

We'll be your friends until you can make some in your new homestead! EVERYONE GIVE RITTER a MANLY HUG. (EVEN THE GIRLS!)
