read the whole thing asked me any plot related questions from the first season of the anime.
The first season will end with us discovering who Asura's mother really is.
One character will be revealed as a trap in season 2
There will be a panty wetting episode.
That seems really slow paced.
animes these days never end in the first season.
Suffice it to say if you skip all but the last two or three episodes nothing of value will be lost. However there is a hilarious idiotic rival for Asterotte's heart in one episode he dresses as tuxedo mask...kinda.

that's to keep interest in the franchise going and sell more merchandise and goods as much as they can.
better be it like this, or most anime will be forgotten anyways.

I disagree, most sequels live from the success of the original and rarely reach the same standard.
What´s wrong with 24/26 or 52 ep. shows?

The get thrown into the "mainstream" genre, and haters hate.

if hayate the combat butler was between 12 and 24 i'd have adored it.

No one's gonna watch it. 24/26 is max for me, otherwise I just won't watch it or drop it cause I'm sure by 52 episode it would get boring.
If they can't do what they want to do in 24 episodes and make it interesting. They're not gonna succeed with 52ep either.
Also, don't spoil Astarotte guys, I'm watching it.

That's not true. Code geass was 50 episodes and it was great. Same for clannad

if they're gonna do 52 ep. anime... break it down to 12 episodes per year.
imo this is effective at keeping everyone talking and speculating about the show... I think it's also good for the merchandising front.

No, what I meant was. If it fails after 24 episodes. It most likely will fail even after 52.
Code geass was great but it was divided into two seasons with a two year break.
Plus, with Code Geass they did pretty much what they wanted to do in those first 24 eps and made it interesting. So there was a point in continuing.
But shit like Naruto with 999 episodes and it's still probably not even half done and boring as ever.

I can agree to that.
I think some long running shows like Gintama, one piece and dragonball z can be good. Though I don't have the time to watch it. The worse thing with these types up anime is they tend to end up with a lot of fillers that most likely suck or the pacing is slow.
I hate movies like this too where from episode one they plan on a trilogy and maybe even 2 parts for the third movie.
Tell me Prison Break wouldn't have sucked if it wasn't just ONE season instead of year after year of newer more fucked up jails and crappy chases.
If your story is can not be wrapped up with a great ending in 26 eps it is not a story it is merchandising and filler.
This is why I won't watch naruto, bleach or any of that. Not gonna deal with it. I want a story arch not a story draaaaaaag.
They could easily end one piece with 26 episodes and it still would be pretty good. Dragon ball z could fit that description since every arc is supposed to be the last arc until the publisher decides to milk it and force the author to continue.

Hey man gintama kicks some serious ass highly recommended, I swear, it will have you laughing xD
on another note:-
Gintama is one of the few animes that actually did a smart move, instead of making a shit load of fillers, so they could let the manga get ahead, they stopped the anime for a year and allowed to advance then started the anime again.

That's just not true. You might be able to tell the story of one individual, but you cannot create a complex universe with intriguing political situations in that timeframe.
For example, Babylon 5 is an absolutely fantastic series with very little filler outside of the first season. It could probably have been tightened from ~100 episodes down to ~50 episodes, but any more than that and there would be serious loss of content. Also keep in mind these are 45min episodes rather than 22min episodes.
I suppose one could break it down into 2x26ep arcs, The Shadow War, followed by the Civil War and Reconstruction, and that would fit your parameters, but no way could it be done in less time than that.
