If it was someone that was a well known artist, then I would question him.
But an unknown is an unknown so I ain't even mad.

Well madam mirage only has one big book, sadly. :C I got into it because I just liked Mr.Rocafort's art. I spend most of my time in art books because they have the best art and aren't rushed like manga artist. DOGS bullet and carnage is good except the artist uses so many giant white spaces it annoys me.

I feel offend by this ...
I think it's intended to show camaraderie, not to offend.
I think the joke is meant to say, "Hey, fellow artists, our parents and teachers told us that we should develop our art skills, but in fact all that work we put into it was a very bad career move. We, the artists, are suffering economically, due to foreign labor, and the product on the market is of the lowest possible quality, made by paupers who work for starvation wages."
If anything, it's an anti-globalization, anti-corporate political cartoon.
I love the amazing spiderman comics.

Something along those lines, yeah!
Haha
I heard from a Dark Horse editor once that a lot of comic writers in America and Japan started doing it just because they where starving and needed money.
I don't remember any names though.... bollocks. ^-^;;
You people should be ashamed. Of course Manga looks fucking boring compared to Marvel or D.C. Comics.
As a big fan of both, I can't really take him seriously but he is right in some points. I'll still be loving both.
^
Thats better than Manga? xDDDDDDDDDD
my eyes are not amused
There's more work behind one of this comics than a manga book. It's a pleasure to read a colored comic, that's what I think at least.
And of course there are non-color western comics that are friggin awsum like Strangers in Paradise <3
But western comics tend to lean towards realism while manga is very diverse. I read somewhere that the less real a character looks the more the reader relates to it instead of just reading someone else story. As if they begin to imagine themselves in such a situation or something like that. If anyone is confused by that I can try to find the article but it's been so long >.<
Nevertheless it is pretty.
I don't see how Spider Man, Superman, Poison Ivy & the Marvel characters can be seen as "realistic".
There's a lot of different comics, both manga and non-manga. Even in manga there are lots of awesome "realistic" comics.
To be honest I think that saying "Manga is soo much better than western comics!" is childish. The big difference is that Manga is Japanese. I thought only weeaboos would say that kind of thing.
Have you guys given western comics a chance to begin with? It's worth it.
My opinion is this: it shouldn't matter where it comes from. If it's good, it's good. All manga isn't good, I've found a big share of crappy stuff. All western comic isn't good either, but simply being western or japanese doesn't make them better or worse.
I prefer Manga to Western Comics myself.
To me, it seems Manga presents motion and emotion better.
