The anime takes the juice from the manga, but they don't put it in a chronological order.
For example, Episode 12 was actually part of chapter 20~30 or something. There are over 100 chapters (That is, if the scanlators weren't trolling me) but only about half are translated as of now.
If they wanted to do season 2, it really wouldn't be a problem since there would be more than 80 chapters to get their jokes from.
