    Comiket

Wait, there's comiket during the winter holidays?

Edit: So there is, apparently. Oh well. Travelling to Tokyo, finding a place to stay and heading back afterwards is still a bit too expensive for me. A pity. I wouldn't have minded to visit Tokyo again, really.

    Quite sad.

I like winter comi much more because

    1. There's not so many people (still a crapload of them though)
    2. It's not freaking hot (it's actually freaking cold ^^)

But this time I'm extremely broke... T_T I may end up spending less than 10000 yen this time

  3. I wanna look outside my window on Xmas eve and see that

It'd cost me 5 times that just to get over there and to get back home. Excluding hotel/hostel fees, too. I suffer. :(

I think the best they have over here is an Animate somewhere in the city center, but don't ask me where. Tokyo really has some advantages at times. T'was easy to find anime-related stuff there. Of course, I also spent every morning enjoying the rush hour which I don't quite get over here, and the people over here are a lot more relaxed and easier to talk to, so different places, different advantages and disadvantages, I suppose. :)

Heh, If you mean "staying in bed until rediculous times," I do that 4 days a week. I like staying in bed until 14:00. I only have to get up early (9:00) twice a week, and the remaining day I have to get up between 11 and 12 AM.

Not that this'll stop me from abusing all my free time and sleeping even more during the winter holidays... ;)

50000 yen? Do you live in Okinawa?

I think Tokyo is just completely awesome...

It may be fairly warm down here (well, today it was 3 degrees Celcius all of a sudden, but that doesn't stop me from wearing short-sleeved T-shirts), but it's not quite that warm just yet. ;)

Try Kyuushuu instead. With the Shinkansen, it is a 5 hour trip from Fukuoka to Tokyo (currently it costs a little over 13K yen, but it'd be the high season prices when the comiket is held), and I'd still have to get to Fukuoka first (add some more time and money).

Also, apparently the calculation site messed up before, because it now comes up with a much lower amount. Still over 30K yen though, excluding all the extra costs and excluding transportation costs in Tokyo itself (though admittedly, Tokyo's public transport isn't very expensive).

  9. As far as I know, shinkansen tickets cost the same regardless of season/time of purchase (except for special promotions).

You can get a Fukuoka-Tokyo night bus for 6900 yen. I strongly recommend the night bus for traveling, as it's cheaper than the train, and you spend one night in the bus which you don't have to pay at a hotel.

I don't think transportation in Tokyo is cheap. My commute is 470 yen each way, with only one exchange. Is it even worse over there?

Next time you come to Tokyo, let me know, maybe we'll hang out...

  15. I'm actually looking forward to doing work. I'll be able to work 35 hours for 2 weeks, so that should give me some much needed money. And on the home turf, I'm gonna spend time doing editing work for nanofate. It's been a long time since I've edited a doujin. Plus I wanna probably make some blog posts, which I'll also consider work.

Its supposed to be cold enough and with a lot of moisture with the storm system engulfing the west coast.
