Meowers -
I had 2 uncles that were in the 442nd. One is interred at Punchbowl Memorial in Oahu. The other is still kickin,... okay - he's rollin, he coasts around on one of those electric thangs that old folks use to putter around on (mostly coz he left a leg in France).
Yah, the Japanese on my mom's side of the family were at Manzanar.
Oh and one step brother was a pilot for the Hawaii National Guard (he was an F-15 driver).
^_^
On my dads side of the family, one of my uncles was an instructor at the USAF Academy in Colorado. Now he's a retired 1 star.
One of my step brothers is still in the US Navy (a sub subcommander, still a junior officer got busted down three times). I have a neice that is in the Marines (she's Chinese/Hawaiian/Spanish).
Wow. That's quite a long military history in the family. I can't say the same with my family as only my (American) grandad was in the USCG. He used to make up lies about what he did in Vietnam so you can't say my family pushed me into it.
You seem to have a lot of USAF in your family. A few years ago I made the switch (much against the advice of my parents) to the Marines from the Air Force. I always wanted to be a flyboy but my eyes are shot to hell. So five years ago I decided I would try for Pararescue but after talking to a few former Marines and researching them I decided that the Marines sounded a lot better.

I figured posting "doesn't currently have..." would've been redundant.
Sorry. My bad.
