  3. Why couldn't it be in February? Class is probably starting again at the start of March, so it seems unlikely that I'll be able to make it there. :(

    Then again, it would be costly. Around 15K yen to get there, 15K yen to get back, 5K yen for the ticket, and probably up to 5K yen for food and a place to stay. So it'd end up at 40K yen - not very cheap for me. ;_;

Reminds me of that time I had a mail about a niconico event in Tokyo. I'm so close, yet so far...

Sometimes, I wish I studied in Tokyo. :(

It's all part of the "39" or "sankyu" gimmick. Last concert was 3/9/2010, this time it is 3/9/2011. Let's not forget it took 39,390 likes on Facebook for Miku to receive the English voice bank... >.>

Then they should made the entry fee 3,900円.

  9. Someone should tell them that. >.>

But I'm wondering if this is concert centered around Project Diva 2nd and a possible future game. It would interesting to see if they will showcase Miku append and the English voice bank. Just hoping there are plenty of surprises.

  12. Happy happy happy :)

But I don't think the blueray will be in my future for this one either.

The price they wanted (Amazon.ja) was the most outrageous wallet rape I have ever experienced.

~$80 isn't the worst you could pay for a (2 hour) concert. It is Japan though, and they do love over-priced media.

Kyuushuu, and I major in Japanese Languages and Cultures, officially. My main purpose here is to become more fluent in Japanese though, and I don't get many subjects so far which focus on things other than the language. Leaves me a lot of free time - a lot more than many of the other (Asian) exchange students. :P

Fixed. The whole rampant racism thing? It isn't as bad as this site may let it appear to be. Might partially be because of where I live, but I haven't really had any major trouble with racism yet.

I'm sure there are places out there that are "tolerant" and even so there still is the public loathing towards anime fandom so your probably one the lucky select few that hasn't received any hate (yet) but then again there other factors....

After rip off shipping of 20 bucks and 25 bucks duty, the blueray was not merely 80 bucks to a Canadian though. I refused it when I discovered the last 25 bucks insult to injury on top of 20 bucks shipping.

I have a collection full of concerts. My 3 dvd Rush in Rio concert retails for about 30 bucks.
I will guess quite a lot of sales were lost to the blueray download when people found out how insane the purchase price was.

I mean come on, at the end of the day, while I will gladly blather on about how great Hatsune Miku is, my wallet expects me to have a brain.
50 bucks is my idea of an insane cost for a concert. Not 125.

Solely out of curiousity, but is that post of yours based on personal experiences, or just on stuff you heard/read? I'm wondering just what you're basing those posts on. ;)

Also, for some reason, your post reminded me of this time I went to do some karaoke and stuff with a few random Japanese people (friends of a friend), and we ended up singing Anime and Hatsune Miku songs. Fun day, good times.

    Back on topic:
But yeah, Blu-ray prices are insane. I'm sure Blu-ray's are more expensive and all that, and the quality they offer is a lot better, but seriously, when you pay more for the Blu-ray than you would for the actual concert, something is seriously wrong if you ask me. :/

Not that I'd have much use for a Blu-ray version: My PC can't play it, and I haven't got any Blu-ray players nearby or even back at home. The only way I could view something in Blu-ray was if I had the files on my PC, and that one is at home (only got my laptop over here).
