This could also be why he has trouble loosing his virginity...

You'd be surprised how much it gets on a person's mind if they've neglected the instinctual prime directive for decades. You can think you've conquered it for a week or a month, but it always finds you again. People have been known to snap under the weight of regret/self-loathing/uncertainty, and become perpetually unsatisfied mad scientists chasing after impossible dreams to keep their thoughts focused away from those deathless inner voices. It happens.

I mean, think of the drive we have in our brain chemistry for this thing. Not a single one of everyone's ancestor's failed to mate at some point, or they wouldn't exist. Not one link broken in the chain. All of our ancestors recieved the instructions their own ancestor's left for them, and executed them to the letter, successfully.

For every living person, there is a chain as long as the history of organic life itself linking them back to the primordial soup. An unbroken sequence of ancestors spanning uncountable species across time immemorial.

Instinct is this antique pattern's name, DNA is its material aspect, and neurological imprisonment is its conceptual make. United, they comprise the greatest adversary one in the organic position can ever hope to face. The worthiest possible adversary, for the truly defiant and motivated.

I never wish I quit, I love anime but at the same time I take it into moderation. Whats fantasy and whats reality, I weigh the two - no matter how much I want fantasy it can only go so far and its not real.
I Gotta find a mate, I want my family name carried on. People who neglect realness are selfish, your seed cant be born to carry on your family legacy because you refuse to acknowledge (woman) because of fantasy? thats nonsense.

I like to start off at this point...

Being that I am nearly a 1/2 century old.. I can say I agree with MINN.

~ and from my own experience, here is a KISS format:

    1. I watched Anime since it intro to the States. (liked then and like it now) I will never quit loving it!

    2. Know limits (between) Reality/Fantasy distinguish between them, its healthier that way.

    3. I have been in a few relationships, (however) ~ I was not the type of person to be a known as a (bed-jumper) every week, or have a (different) partner, just to place/have bedpost notches and think that is what a MAN is supposed to be like. (besides) One has to think of the consequence(s) of any action, to be aware of STD and the like.

    4. I eventually married and carried a seed, which is my son.

    5. I am "D" (divorced) now...

So, (currently) ~ I have my pleasures, fantasies, and the like and Animé/Hentai/H games (and the like) are assists to that.

I hope this doesn't freak too many people here, considering the age issue and hearing what a Old Otaku -- well, you guys know what I am saying here...lol.

But, hey, no one can say I'm not honest about it.

Be proud of yourself. What if you are divorced, you managed to have a son, that is a great achivment.
I also think it's pretty important that someone will carry on your line.

Ah i have been thinking of having a family from not so long ago, guess instinct forces me too.And i do really want to have my own children

And my father is also divorced. But my parents still undestand eachother pretty well,go out for drinks and we usualy go out eating on sunday all together sometimes.I lived at mom with my sister.

  9. Well, thanks for some of the advises above!
(I'm 22, as I forgot to say it before)

But the main thing in this post was the question: "Have any of you had any similar problem after you started with anime, hentai, eroge, etc OR wish you had quit anime before you got to obsessive?"

Yeah, I know my writing got a bit out of hand and a little too serious.
But I thought a background story, to why I'm asking this question was appropriate.
And I'm not telling you to believe that this post is the truth or not, thats up to you too decide.

Go to an anime convention and pick up otaku girls! find someone cosplaying something your into and be like 'hey im an otaku and im not fat' and she will be like 'omg /swoon' but then you have to come high five me, its mandatory.

This is something I would want to try=P, havnt really thought about it before. Meeting a girl with the same interests as me would be a big step forward atleast.

  10. Nope, Big boobs on any 3d girl and i'm a brain dead sucker.
Korean or Chinese women and i'm a braindead sucker.
big boobs and asian = obsessive until rejection.

i like my 2d cause i like my guro and monzetsu situations that could never happen in real life. These images and videos expand my perverted imagination. Eventually i think ill be jacking off to Uziga Waita (ew) x.x) because i would have become tired of the normal stuff....

but thats not the point, as someone earlier suggested Find someone who shares your interest not just people who you hang around with a the gym. or ugly women.

  11. I've never lost interest in 3d women per se. I find myself more drawn to hentai than 'real' porn if I'm online but I'm still attracted to actual women I see in person.

I don't think I'll ever wish I quit anime, if anything I wish I were more obsessive about it, I feel like a narutard most of the time. I want to learn japanese and skip the fansubs all together for example but so far iv been too lazy to actually do it.

No problem...and your welcome with the reply.

    1. I NEVER had a similar problem... as I stated ~ I been watching animé since its placement in the states, and I had no problems.

I DON'T give a RATS ARSE what people think, and I WILL keep watching it, collecting the stuff, and be proud that I have an open mind about it.

Remember, its a matter of how one responds to it and uses it.

Just place/keep it in perspective to other things and balanced it out.

    2. No worries (from me anyway) about it being too long or too serious.
I read it and understood what your trying to convey.

Hell, I respond with plenty of ~ TL;DR ~ posts... but I do it because I want to explain everything properly verses just giving a instant feeding of words.

    Its just habit for me.

    3. Believing if your post is real or not? Who really cares? One can never judge that.

I know for me, I will listen, render a opinion and if asked for a answer I will leave one.

Even if its a fake plea, you still got an answer, and was that answer what you (or anyone) wanted to read? Who knows.

It all comes down to making the right choices and not becoming a Hikikomori.

At times ~ there is a need to be like one, but go out, meet people and see if you will find someone with like interests.

Just keep it real and distinguish between fantasy and what can be obtained.

Because we don't need to be reading about anything (or give femnazi's any more ammo) about some person, who went too far, just because he/she uses (the excuse) that animé, hentai, eroge, etc was the cause of their problems.

Well, I don't really have the standard Otaku look. So just being around other Otakus, makes them feel uncomfortable. Looking at me like I'm going to rip their manga apart or destroying their figure collection.
Heh, I guess thats why I dont really feel welcome when I'm out buying manga, as it looks like everyone expect I'll make fun of them and burn down the store.^^

I'm sure wearing a t-shirt with something like the popotan girls would remove any such apprehension while visiting various geek havens.

As for the original topic, maybe cut back on the romantic comedies, etc? It may sounds silly, but a lot, if not most of the point of romantic storytelling is such that the viewers vicariously enjoy some of the emotional benefits of a relationship without the effort and drawbacks of really maintaining one. Perhaps in the absence of that you'd find more motivation in actually pursuing a relationship.

  17. Yes I did and I think most outaku have had the same problem look at the hero from chaos head but as you said it’s because anime makes our standards for 3D women rise I’m just lucky that I met someone who passed my standards
