Yeah do it for the ignorant masses. But at the other hand ignorance is bliss.

  3. if it were not for my piracy,
if it were not for my theft,
if it were not for my criminality,

i would never have met youuu~

and things like this wouldn't exist,

what would Newton have done had he not had access to information? to the books of the many giants on whose shoulders he stood.

  4. The government wants to censor something so they go for the vast, ever-changing internet? Yes, that makes perfect sense. Good luck with that. And even if this did pass I don't think it would be that horrible. Maybe inconvenient but it wouldn't be the end of the world. People will always find a way to get what they want.

I going to commit copyright infringement. I'm going to watch Toaru Majutsu no Index II fansub then read some manga that is unavailable here in the US.

I'm sure Palmtop Tiger does nothing like that, right?

I'm on you side. Just don't go thinking the sky is falling when it's really not.

If you want to oppose this legislation, go right ahead. But next time know the laws and how you can fight them.

P.S. Downloading anime isn't copyright infringement. Burning it onto DVDs and selling it is.

if people are desperate enough you'd be surprised how far one would go to get what they want so in a way your kinda right just look at pirated media it still remains a constant problem solution to get unlicensed goods and continues to be a profitable market to this day

    FUD

This bill would only blacklist sites which deal in counterfeit goods and copyright infringements. Sites which are located outside the United States would be blocked from sending goods into the country.

There is no provision for any kind of censorship and international websites would definitely not be removed from the Internet.
    Read it for yourself.

    Go play chicken little elsewhere.

Uh, chicken little? I like chicken soup ....Anyway sorry about the screwed up poll. I was late and was in a rush to get going to work. It was supposed to be:
Would this be a Good or Bad thing?
    -Yes a Good thing
    -No a Bad thing
    -I don't know/care
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
Also I didn't have 100% of the info needed for this since I only happened upon it a few minutes before I needed to leave. I was hoping the community might/would know more.

Do you know how MANY sites that would be in violation of the bill if passed? More then I can fathom. So how would they go after such a huge cluster? I am thinking a few for show then the rest in their dreams.

  15. Well being a Canadian, and in Canada, I simply can't help ya, so sorry :)

As for things being 'removed from the internet' well that is essentially the problem WITH the internet. You can't. Even if every wanted to, they can't.

Now, if you are an honest business, and have an honest web presence ie something easy to target, yes, that can be blocked rather easy like.

Good luck stopping people that simply don't care.

If I have learned anything from 10 years of enjoying the ole www, it's that once it's on the internet, it's likely not coming OFF the internet.
Or in other words, be careful of what you say and show online eh kids, because you can't normally take it back :)

Like for instance all the posts you post that have overt obvious loli content. Hope none of that ever comes back to bite you in the ass :)

Dude, it politicians, politicians only care about there own personal agenda and keeping a cuisse sit in the government, the only thing they do is try to keep the people quiet by choosing the easiest thing they can get rid of or censor, if it isn't "for the children" it because of some religion moral obligation in-which isn't even suppose to be happening but still does because personal religion isn't SUPPOSE to have a part in politics.
