Two interesting pieces of news emerge about the imminent Soul Calibur IV; firstly, it is confirmed that noted Mai-Otome character designer 久行宏和 / Hirokazu Hisayuki has designed one of the extra characters, above, looking to be another supernaturally inclined character, an oni if I’m not mistaken.
The next piece of news is rather more speculative: we have a report that the extra characters will take the form of pricey downloadable content, though this is still very much unconfirmed.

More proof, as if any was needed, that 3Dカスタム少女 / 3D Custom Shoujo / 3D Custom Girl could with some work become the Vocaloid of the eroge world. Now we are presented with some interesting (none too H) videos of the Haruhi-dan reproduced with as much fidelity as the game allows. Even has long hair Haruhi for good measure. See also the earlier look, amongst others.

Some actual screens of the Tales of the Abyss anime have emerged, and information on the next two Tales game titles also emerges, though as both are for portables you will have to forgive a lack of enthusiasm on my part. Tales of Hearts will be released on the Nintendo DS in the winter, and on the PSP there is Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2, also due in the winter.
See below for the most ill advised character art in recent memory – Tales of Hearts truly has a do not want ambience to it.

A ticket for an Idol Master event, “The Idol M@ster 3rd Anniversary Live” has fetched an impressive ¥138,000, from a starting price of ¥6,500. It would appear to be a good front row seat, at least, though even average seats seem to be fetching ¥50,000. The event in question would appear to be essential attendance for Idol Master fans, since it will have the full cast in attendance, the perfect venue for some otagei perhaps?
But for that kind of money you could probably get a private audience with a seiyuu? For five minutes at least… Via Ore-teki, where we see it is not all price inflation for event tickets; Sakura Taisen tickets just fetched ¥1, for two.

Atlus seems set on drumming up interest in almost released Persona 4 by the most prurient of methods – a onsen peeping game involving spying on the young ladies of the protagonist’s group bathing.

Hoping to break into (or rather, create) the English (or at least something approximating it) language market for bishoujo games/hentai games/eroge is new entrant MangaGamer (replete with a poorly designed Engrish site), with their site set to open for business on July 10th, offering digital download editions of a variety of less well known titles, to start with at least.

The Wii is set to get a game released by Bandai, titled Happy Dance Collection, which will be strikingly similar to the suspiciously platform limited Idol Master; the game will be a veritable fount of originality, featuring dancing segments (involving moving and timing the Wiimote), as well as young ladies the player can dress up and propel to the dubious heights of stardom. It will also have two player play, Mii compatibility and plenty of famous (?) J-pop tunes.
Finally, capable seiyuu/singer 水樹奈々 / Mizuki Nana (Hinata) is in charge of voicing.
Via Ore-teki.

Tears to Tiara has been eagerly awaited based on the various impressive screens provided, but let us take a step outside the publicity machine for a while. See the same character below:
