An enterprising soul offers up these accomplished figure renditions of Touhou mainstays Hakurei Reimu and Marisa in puchi Nendoroid-like form. You can see the process by which they were made in detail, in the below videos.

A court has ordered the employer of a dead live-in janitor to pay ¥4,200,000 in overtime payments to him, for time he spent drinking and indulging in his plamo modelling hobbies. The company did at least get out of paying the other 36 million yen demanded.

Hatsune Miku gets ecchi with some negi (leeks). Or maybe she just got it stuck in her pantsu. One of the pleasures of Figma is the sort of warped things you can have them do, and the massively anticipated and just released Figma Hatsune Miku is no exception. More negi action below.

This rather striking rendition of extraterrestrial exploration gone tentacularly awry caught my eye, and I sure it did yours too. Now, just what is that thing she’s wearing?
Fortunately, it is something of an adult work, so yes, it cast off rather thoroughly, as you can see below.

In something of a change from the usual, though admittedly appealing, curvaceous or at times entirely flat young ladies, here we see an absolutely stunning figure/diorama, 魂コレクターズ S.I.C. HERO SAGA VOL.2 (Soul Collectors), even exhibiting creative use of illumination, to say nothing of the outstandingly lifelike probing tendrils…

Moe-tan, formerly of Engrish teaching fame, but now largely of moe delicious cake merchandising fame, has had her incarnation as a Nendoroid, and the results are well received and almost eye-watering in several respects. In particular, the tableau of all the Moe-tan figures below is rather dangerous looking…

A giant Hachune Miku recently menaced (or should that be perplexed?) a festival with her leek, though fortunately nobody was injured. Witnesses report that the giant Miku was ensconced over the Asagaya shopping arcade throughout the period of the matsuri, several days, but made no demands.

Konami seems to be busy – now they bring Shakugan no Shana to us in figumated form, due for release on the 21st, and available in just about every variety of Shana, as well as side characters (below).

I am a devoted fan of this illustration, so seeing the latest figure compelled me to post. No wonder Type Moon’s illustrations are so sought after. Also some more puchi nendoroid type images are provided…

There’s plenty of coverage of Wonder Festival, and a fairly full digest is already published, but not too many sites actually bothered to prepare a delicious cake figure gallery… except one notable site, of course. Also plenty of /d/ type figures. Intrigued?

Tactical espionage moe? These Figumate figures provide an interesting reimagining of Snake, Otacon, Raiden and Ocelot. Rather more desirable than the crusty old commando himself, though this would hardly be difficult. Due for release December 11th, as a set of four, in the region of ¥3,000.

Wonder Festival 2008 Summer stayed open despite the escalator carnage, and so naturally this means a look at the fine crop of figures being exhibited there has been provided by a variety of sites.
What caught my eye is below – in particular, you’ll note the excellent Touhou figures, more Valkyria Chronicles figures, including Selvaria, some belated Odin Sphere figurage, and of course Tears to Tiara figures. Yoko seems to be much in evidence.
Now updated with more sites. Read the rest of this entry »
