A Japanese individual hoping to give those with amateur drawing abilities a chance to stand alongside talented artists is developing technology that can transform basic sketches into stunning illustrations, bound to have some questioning if this might discourage budding artists from actively trying to improve.
The Twitter user shared a video online that secured 2.5 million views in about two days, showcasing his program that converts child-like sketches into stunning anime-style artwork:
The creator says they are experimenting with technology capable of automatically generating illustrations in real time from basic sketches, and intends for the program to allow even those who have never drawn before the ability to produce a decent-looking illustration in a brief amount of time.
Parameter sliders that can adjust the style and shape of the artwork are said to be the next step for their technology.
The only thing I want this to do is to completely remove any reliance on having to outsource to gaijins
This looks good if you want every character to look plain jane.
^ probably a gaijin still living in his parents basement.
you mad that the vast majority of animation tools were made by them? and why would they outsource to places that actually pay artists/animators a decent wage.. that’s the exact opposite of what companies want to do.
Doubt it’s gonna replace real artists any time soon.
Just like AI for removing people’s clothes. They work to some extent but nowhere near practical use level.
It won’t replace real artists. But it will help those hobbyists, who cannot draw but want a quick and easy way to create assets for their rpg maker games or something.
Those kinds of people arent real.
Traditional anime is sadly being phased out & current Anime Artists have become very lazy, in the early 1990’s it was all drawn by hand with skill. Now your current anime series is drawn on computer with software or 3D generated. Hand drawn Anime as a medium might be dead in 10 years….
and what’re you doing about it, homo?
You embracing traditional animation and paying the artists that use it?
Or are you just whining about it while possessing no actual knowledge?
For that matter, drawing on a computer is still drawing by hand, what the f♥♥k do you think a tablet -is-?
Encouraging mediocrity, banality and complacency is what the hellscape called the 21th century is all about.
That’s nice
Technology Banzai! A.I. Banazi!!
