The Inuyasha sequel anime Hanyou no Yashahime has been falsely accused of promoting child grooming and pedophilia by Twitter’s battalion of keyboard warriors for showing a scene of an allegedly underaged female character giving birth.

If my memory serves me right. The age of consent was set because of science not mortality. The risk of birth defects and harm to the mother increases if they are too young or too old. I don’t know for sure, I haven’t done too much research on the matter.
