Anime Studio Arms Declares Bankruptcy

Studio Arms (also known as Common Sense) may be taking after Production IMS and Tear Studio as they have now declared bankruptcy, which they announced during a recent shareholder meeting as they filed for special liquidation on July 22nd.

The studio was founded in 1996 and was known for producing classic ero-animations such as La Blue Girl, Words Worth, and Night Shift Nurses: Experiment; they would later go on to produce top tier ecchi shows such as Queen’s Blade, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, and Ikkitousen, as well as non-ero such as Elfen Lied and Gokukoku no Brynhildr.

Back in June 2009, Arms was at its highest point with unwavering titles such as Ikkitousen securing them sales worth ¥390 million; since then however, it is said the company entered a continual downward trend, leading to them being forced to cooperate with other large animation studios on their projects.
