Coronavirus Cancels Bang Dream Events, FFVII Remake Event & More

The China-originating Coronavirus has begun to greatly affect an assortment of Japanese media as the virulent plague has disrupted the plans for several events, from notable street gatherings to the airing of anime episodes.

The revered Nipponbashi Street Festa and Shibuya Design Festival were both aborted by way of an announcement out of fear of the Coronavirus – both events were planned to commence sometime in March.

The seventh episode of MMORPG anime Infinite Dendrogram also had to be delayed due to production circumstances brought on by the outbreak – a new air date will be relayed later on, and episode one will be rebroadcast in its place.

Bang Dream, Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight and other Bushiroad-sponsored events have been subjected to either postponement (until March 19th) or cancelled outright, once again due to the feared coronavirus.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake’s special “Battle Train” event for February 22nd, where participants would be solving riddles on a train running along the Yamanote line, was also abolished out of safety concerns for those involved.

The fujoshi anime known as A3! Season Spring & Summer will also suffer from delays as the series has been put on hold until April.

Further disruption in shows and events are likely to happen, given the disastrous state the virus has inflicted.
