Kyoto Animation Arsonist Admits to Targeting Studio

Police have begun interrogating Shinji Aoba, the deranged criminal said to have started the brutal Kyoto Animation arson at their first studio building that killed 36 people and injured another 33, with the troubled individual admitting to his murderous deeds.

41-year-old Shinji Aoba was said to have been yelling that Kyoto Animation “stole his novel idea” outside of the building after committing his deed; he was since taken to a hospital in order to treat his burns and injuries, and only recently managed to recover enough strength to sit in a wheelchair as well as speak.

Aoba was quoted as saying “I targeted First Studio where the largest number of people (at the company) work. I thought I would be able to injure many people”, admitting to the allegations when police questioned him at the Osaka hospital.

The psychopath was carrying kitchen knives and a hammer when he went to commit his sickening crime and explained that the knives were to stab anyone who would try to stop him; the hammer was to break a window if he was barred access from the studio (which contained 70 of Kyoto Animations’ 176 employees on the day of the incident).

Seemingly possessing at least some sliver of regret that will be disregarded by the masses, Aoba had stated “I’ve done things that have gone off the road”, additionally thanking the hospital staff for looking after his injuries and expecting himself to be handed a death sentence after admitting to his crimes.

Police are looking to arrest Aoba once he regains enough strength to withstand detention.
