Type-Moon: “We’re Already Testing the Tsukihime Remake!”

Long-suffering fans of visual novel Tsukihime may be pleased to hear that Type-Moon is still working on the remake project that was announced over ten years ago.

According to Type-Moon’s head Kinoko Nasu, the game is currently in its testing phase:

The translation:

Interviewer: Speaking of your main job, I’m looking forward to the Tsukihime remake.

Nasu: We’re currently doing a bit of test playing on it, but I believe it’ll be more fun the older you are.

Tsukihime was Type-Moon and Nasu’s first visual novel, having been released in 2000. A fan disk was later released, followed by a sequel named “Kagetsu Tohya”. The game also spawned fighting game franchise Melty Blood. There are rumors that Tsukihime was adapted into an anime, although many fans will fervently deny its existence.

A remake was promised in 2008, but Tsukihime’s fame had been eclipsed by the eminently more marketable Fate franchise.
