Kagawa Prefecture will become the latest Japanese region to take advantage of otaku media-themed manhole covers, with former governor Slowpoke set to feature.
Slowpoke will soon be appearing on manhole covers around Kagawa Prefecture, one year after he was appointed as governor. The local government plans to install 16 covers at various tourist spots around the prefecture, with each one depicting Slowpoke enjoying the sights; other Pokemon will also make cameos.

The manhole covers are planned for installation on the 20th and 21st of September, although some may wonder whether they will appear on schedule, given Slowpoke’s reputation for poor punctuality.
