New Samurai Shodown Trailers Continue the Rivalry

SNK has released two brand new trailers for the upcoming Samurai Shodown remake, this time starring the series’ most recognizable rivals Haohmaru and Genjuro.

Haohmaru and Genjuro are two orphaned samurai swordsmen who trained under the same master, Nicotine Caffeine. After Haohmaru wins their master’s sword “Fugudoku” in a fight with Genjuro, they both go their separate ways.

Haohmaru has been portrayed as an honorable fighter and seeker of justice throughout the series while Genjuro is his polar opposite, believing in ultimate strength and killing those he finds weak and worthless.

The two trailers showing off Haohmaru and Genjuro’s individual sword skills:

Samurai Shodown will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 27th of June in Japan, for the Nintendo Switch in winter of 2019 and the PC at a later date. The game’s Western release is set for the 25th of June.
