Nintendo’s efforts to force Switch owners to pay $20 a year for Splatoon’s rickety P2P multiplayer and handful of ancient ROMs whilst keeping their cloud saves hostage is shaping up to be an even greater disaster than many anticipated, with the announce trailer having a comical ratio of likes to dislikes and comments all over the Internet being universally negative.

Microsoft made billions charging people to play P2P games on the Xbox and the Xbox 360.
And then, they convinced people that they were getting BETTER service than the Free online Sony offered on the Ps2 and Ps3.
Sony and Nintendo simply realized, if people are going to be this stupid — Might as well take advantage of them. Why let Microsoft control all the idiots?
Except they DID offer a better service. Sony got hacked CONSTANTLY during the PS3 era and was the main reason Microsoft didn’t want to try cross-play back then with them. Sony does offer a P2P system, but because of this their security has gotten better and they offer a vast array of free games, services and discounts, just like Xbox Live, to make up for paying 50 to 60 bucks a year. Xbox Live ranging from a month or even 3 months are practically given away for free sometimes. They’ve AT LEAST given you s♥♥t for paying a subscription. Nintendo’s online subscription is GARBAGE compared Xbox Live and PS+. f♥♥k, you’d lose your fucking saved games if you run out of this Nintendo s♥♥t. Xbox Live saves that s♥♥t even if you’re offline or no longer have the subscription. XBOX LIVE! Like, seriously. As much as some people hate it, at LEAST Microsoft had the fore sight to know how this s♥♥t works. Even Sony did it.

Nintendo won’t change course. They know that even with all the dislikes and bad comments, their core audience is autistic, and they’ll throw their money at them anyway.
