Supernatural thriller Jigoku Shoujo will soon be making a return in the form of a movie, certain to astound those who have been desperate for more despite the recently aired 4th season, though their joyous tune might change upon knowing that the movie will be live action…
Model and actress Tina Tamashiro will be taking on the lead role of Ai Enma – some of the other characters and their chosen actors:
Esteemed horror director Koji Shiraishi (Sadako vs. Kayako, Noroi: The Curse) was selected as the writer for the screenplay; so far it has not been confirmed if the movie will be a full adaptation or if it will possess alterations.
The live action film is scheduled to debut autumn of next year.

Uh… the lead is 20 years old. Isn’t Ai a young girl? Isn’t there a child star somewhere in Japan that can take the role instead?
This is surprising. With all the idol culture the country has, a child actor is what’s missing. Has japan stopped birthing altogether a decade ago or what? There can’t just be zero child actors there, I mean come on.. How is that even possible unless… you’re planning to ship this to the west. If that’s how it is, I understand. The west is allergic to child actors anyway that’s why they have 30 something actors play roles of highschoolers.
