Koei Tecmo President Wants to Work on A Mario Game

A recent interview has revealed that Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Koinuma is quite eager to make some form of Mario game, bound to have Nintendo enthusiasts fearing for the worst as a potential Mario Dynasty Warriors clone could be on the horizon…

According to the interview, Hisashi Koinuma stated:

“I’d like to have an opportunity to work on Nintendo’s Mario. Basically, he’s a character I’ve been playing with ever since I was a kid, so if I could do something with him, I’d be really happy. I think anything would be great, even a simulation would be good.”

Considering Koei Tecmo have produced Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem themed Dynasty Warriors clones, the possibility of a Mario-centric one is not completely out of the question and would likely earn scorn from the masses in the process due to the overall redundant and brainless nature of Dynasty Warriors games.

Though perhaps Koei Tecmo would instead steer the title in the direction of Dead or Alive by shilling out hundreds of DLC packs for exorbitant amounts of cash…
