TV Tokyo has announced that a live action adaptation is currently in the works for Mob Psycho 100, with this news made worse by the fact that the series will be made in collaboration with Netflix, sure to end up destroying the anime much as they did with various other anime franchises and “original creations“.
Despite initial expectations, it seems the adaptation will possess a Japanese cast (unlike the Death Note live action movie) as Hamada Tatsuomi will play protagonist Mob; Sakamoto Koichi will be serving as director and Kobayashi Fuminori has been selected as the producer.
Assumed to be an adaptation, it has yet to be specified how closely the adaptation will stick to the original story, but considering Netflix is partially funding the creation, the series may end up deviating heavily for whatever reason Netflix makes such absurd decisions.
Many are already expecting the worst:
“Ruined.”
“Please stop wasting your (borrowed) money, Netflix.”
“I don’t expect good things.”
“To all the people in the film and television industry who thinks live-action anime adaptations are a good idea, please stop. Sincerely, Everyone.”
“Netflix continues their campaign of killing anime.”

There has been no mention as to whether western fans will get the opportunity to witness the potential car-crash of a series, though the show is set to launch in January of next year.
Fucking netflix, lol.. I know they panicked after Disney told them to f♥♥k off and reminded them they own half the media in the world and wont take any of their s♥♥t, but wow..
Now they’re pumping out any series, any movie, and ripping off s♥♥t with live action anime that may as well be the same as the “Not married with children” or “Not the simpsons” porn parody fads that came and went a few years ago..
Please Netflix, stop making live-action adaptations.
Netflix is doing the international distribution, they’re not footing the bill for production (TVTokyo is).
The bigger issue is still the main problem: Not enough good live-action anime adaptations.
Please Japanese, stop making live-action adaptations.

If they learned from their mistakes, and I hope they did, this can very well be the second good live-action anime film (I’m counting Rurouni Kenshin as the first, I never watched any other). I actually think an American-Japanese co-production is the best option for a live-action anime/manga adaptation, the problem is neither side is famous for following the original story of whatever they adapt closely.
Kenshin the live action is just barely okayish, and that is only because the base material is good. Personally find it hard to sit through both live actions without wanting to puke at the cast of both main & villian characters. At least it is better than most trash live actions from anywhere, this said, that is not saying much, matters as much as being #1 in a lower end special ed competition.
And where is the news on the NEW Kenshin manga?
Personally already finished reading the nice first few chapters. Most of what we get recently on here are shat fake live actions, fake shat cartoons being passed off as “anime” anime, shat fake tradcon or stormfront privilege fake bait, fake china explode shat, and fakeass shats pretending to know about “weeb” culture and acting as if “weebs” don’t belong here, but don’t know how NewType or Otaku works.
Could have a field day with these comments from fake “weebs” who don’t anime, then I realized I got so many nice works to reconsume or catch up on, and real world shat to do. However I needed to vent due to all the fake live actions taking up slots on anime channel yet again & again, or fake live actions in suggestions on the on-demand anime section, or fake live actions being shown on national TV weekend primetime movie feature before the real deal gets a positive mention anywhere on the national TV without “it is all boobs and violence”.
the kenshin author was charged or arrested for possessing child porn or something so naturally all his works would be suspended indefinitely

americans for they lives can’t change that setup, dragon ball had it, death note had it and Im sure as hell mob will have it too.
Americans just have no idea of how to make high school settings in film and TV. Everything needs to have a loser protagonist for it to be “relatable”.

nope, it’s just instincts and not everyone has self control to fight against their nature. greed is just another one of these survival tactics that some people are born with.
netflix fans will watch anything made by Netflix and give it a five star rating. They could make a show about paint drying and it would get a five star rating. That’s why they keep making these things, even the death note movie has a 5 star rating. It’s sickening..
