A side-by-side comparison of the original Secret of Mana with the upcoming remake has astounded fans as the similarities between the two are endless, a fact that has many wishing that Hollywood movies were so thorough when it came to adapting anime – though some may no doubt complain anyway due to the game’s lack of change.

Secret of Mana can be acquired for the PS4, PC and Vita on February 15th.

Looks like something Nintendo would release…after censoring the f♥♥k out of it and inserting crap dialogue that wasn’t in the original. But I digress…this looks good.
As for Hollywood; I wish they would STOP taking notes, and just forget about touching anime/games/manga from Japan. They can adapt all the comic books they want, they’re good at that…but failed at everything else from the East, time and time again.
The original still looks better. But then again, most 3D remakes of old-school 2D don’t look nearly as good as the originals, especially if they make it on the cheap. Never underestimate how well sprites can hold up over time.
“Hollywood Take Note”
As I look at this comment in the heading.
I never played the original Secret of Mana game. However, I could see that regardless of the platform change they were keeping quite faithful to the source material… something I really wish (myself) that hollywood would do when attempting to modify anime into live action adaptations… (or any animation to live action transition for that matter).
((Then again, maybe Square could use this as a lesson as well (right Final Fantasy VII remake?))
This is and always will be my all time favorite console game. I’ve even got the title track set as my ringtone.
