A recent episode of beloved children’s show Doraemon has been earning praise from Chinese and the scorn of Japanese due to its inclusion of a rather “anti-Japanese” statement, with the show’s Nobita and Doraemon proudly exclaiming that “Japan will lose the war” and shocking few as to the controversy that has emerged as a result.
The episode (which aired in late July) was actually a remake of “The Uncle and the Elephant” from the 1979 Doraemon series; the controversial scene involves Nobita and Doraemon throwing their hands into the air and stating “Do not worry about the war. It is going to end soon. Japan lost the war!” – after rescuing an elephant from the zoo that was going to be poisoned (which they feared would happen to all animals during the war).
The “anti-Japanese” statements:
Naturally, the episode was soon condemned for being anti-Japanese (as well as needlessly politicized), saying that it is not “appropriate” to be ecstatic about their own country losing a war – Chinese on the other hand praised the unexpected statements.
It seems most commenters are displeased with those who have been offended by this “anti-Japanese” incident:

Just remind China that it’s not them who won against Japan, but the US.
It was probably Russia to be honest, there’s reason to believe emperor was less worried about the bombs than a Russian land invasion through the rapidly falling Kuril islands.
Americans would do exactly the same if you tell them that it wasn’t the US nuclear bombs that won the war (and were actually unnecessary). The US helped, but Russia beat the Nazis.
Without western allies nazis would have defeated soviet union.
Nazis never had any chance against USA.Reason: Atlantic Ocean and useless german fleet. Wests material help was very important,if not totally decisive for russians.

The online right wing are always offended by historic facts.
This is like watching old Loony Toons cartoons. Older and hopefully wiser. You come to realize how wrong the jokes and a lot of stories. Yet people were fine with it. As somehow people suddenly cannot take a joke. Cannot seem to understand the concept. They get so offended by something decades or centuries old. Somehow want to erased. All to make them feel better. Better off just capping them in the head and removing them from the record. Yet I do not endorse this. As I am a nobody and killing people is wrong. No, matter how much a dumbass they are. Really…where is the alien invasion? We need one to fucking save us!
