Upcoming 2D side-scroller Metroid: Samus Returns – a remake of game boy title Metroid II (revealing why Nintendo forcibly took down the “Project AM2R” fan game) – has received a developer diary featuring Yoshio Sakamoto as he discusses all the game’s new features, which rabid fans will no doubt love considering this is supposedly the first 2D Metroid game in over 10 years.

This looks like a steaming pile of diarrhea compared to AM2R, tbh fam. And why the f♥♥k are the evolved metroids freezable? Doesn’t that ruin everything? Anyhow, I have no faith because the developer Mercury Stream is known to completely suck ballz. There best game ever was a shitty GoW clone, and the rest are abominations.
Well…. I’ll give it a chance but AM2R was a 10 out of 10 for me. Well-made, stayed true to the source material for the most part, and ran well on my crappy E5-571-5552 PC with all the bells and whistles turned on.
Game developers should take note: THAT is how you make a game. It should run WELL on very old hardware or consumer-grade laptop hardware with all the bells and whistles turned on.

AM2R is a fucking piece of s♥♥t. The only parts of it that look halfway decent are whatever was ripped from other metroid games, the parts that are custom pixel art that the developer created looks FUCKING s♥♥t. The mapping looks s♥♥t and bland as f♥♥k. The levels are empty as f♥♥k, the gameplay is amateuristic fucking fan-wank.
Anyone who likes it is a complete and utter fucktard who wouldn’t know quality if it came up and fucked him in the ass. 😀
