Resident Evil 7‘s final developer video has provided one last salvo of insight into the game’s direction and development, additionally revealing that the next Resident Evil game is already being planned out – an unsurprising outcome considering how popular first person horror titles have become due to cringe-inducing “lets players”.

Jun Takeuchi (Resident Evil 7’s executive producer) mentions that the game has already entered the planning process and that their current ideas are “very different from Resident Evil 7 in some ways”, with the franchise’s constant genre-hopping perhaps serving as their alternative to making a genuinely fright-inducing survival horror.
Resident Evil 7’s VR horror can be experienced now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
So they making RE8 but we still dont have part 2 of RE7.. wtf you doing capcom…
I’m not a fan of any RE games, but well, they hit jackpot with 7 (mostly because they finally decided to look at what western developers were doing – AKA Frictional Games’ Amnesia series – and learned from it. I hope they keep up the excellent work.
I hope it’s not first person. I can’t play those due to vision problems.
Mah, RE series was decently fun, personally prefers other zombie games with 1st/3rd view switch and anime/manga character mods. Eg NMRIH or L4D2 with anime skin mod.
TBH, I stopped caring once the characer started to look like us and less like anime/manga characters.
I hope they don’t f♥♥k up RE2:R with this First person, has to be so realistic, that they throw out all the character of the series down to the character designs themselves.
