Sakura Quest revolves around a cute girl ascending to the level of “queen” while working for a tourism agency to help breathe new life into a dying town, yet another series from P.A. Works that focuses on everyday life and real world situations – and looking sure to earn endless praise from the Type B crowd.

Shiori best girl
Looks like a nice anime, definitely gonna check it out.
Oh thank god… For a moment there I thought it was an anime about all the “sakura” games.
I’m beginning to think the only hate towards cute girls that act cute… comes from Westerners. It’s like they prefer amazon women who build muscle and stomp on them instead. You can like that sort of thing, go right ahead, but you don’t see anyone complaining about you having your own preferences. Even if they seem weird to “us” other folk.
If you like feet, go for it. If you like small breasts, go for it. You’re not harming anyone.
So. What’s wrong with girls being girly? That is the question of the day.
Westerners just like macho themed s♥♥t
they think that watching Cute girls doing cute things make you gay or weak or something like that
squareheads
i’m from the west (east of the great water) and I like them. Pretty much even. (no p♥♥o). There is this artist, Itou Hachi, who specialiced in non sexual content stories around girls. They are emotionaly and very heartwarming. He manages it to ride a very thin line of where it feels almost a bit too realistic for a manga. Very impressive!
Very true….
I don’t think many people in the West appreciate niceness anymore. Everyone’s screaming all the time at each other. Shows like this are just… nice. That’s why I like them anyway.
It’s like if you’re a nice person, that’s seen as weakness and you’re immediately attacked. I don’t understand it, but then it’s been decades since I tried to understand my insane fellow humans. Oh well, for a few hours a week I get to watch shows from sane people. (I’m quite aware that my view of Japan is limited, and if I knew more I might find they’re even more nuts than we are. I’ll stick to my delusions, thank you.)
Most English speaking people are shallow hypocrites in general. Not all, but most. Just enjoy whatever you want and know there are plenty of people out there in the world who think similarly and enjoy the same things.
Yoshino doesn’t even have that “moe” of a design anyways. Not at all that that would be a bad thing if she did. She looks pretty fucking cool to me.
And I also watch whatever I enjoy, no matter what the look or appeal is. And that just so happens that the best shows for me since Summer ’16 have been shows such as Amanchu!, Love Live! Sunshine!!, New Game!, Stella no Mahou, Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume, Long Riders!, and now Kemono Friends and a ton of other shows I have yet to watch from the Winter season.
Stella no Mahou & Long Riders are way underrated.
Long Riders! was fucking solid as hell. Never was interested in cycling, but throw in some really good characters and really interesting episodes going to cool places, with great animation (Actas also did Girls und Panzer), and now I have a new appreciation for people’s love of cycling, as well as a new anime to add to my list of favorites.
People that would enjoy slice of life instead of moe junk would more likely see this stuff and think:
“Yeah….no fucking thanks.. Is there anything like Mushi-shi that isn’t made to be porn or cute this season..?”
It’s not made for you, gaijin.
Japan doesn’t have any of you faux-intellectual “hurr hurr I’m smart. Just look at the animated shows I choose to watch!” people masquerading around like they own the goddamn industry.
“Moe junk” is another term for “Hey, look! It’s that 14 year old kid who thinks he’s philosophical again that I see all over the internet”.
People who watch what they want are actually the “smart” ones.
Idiot.
Cute characters being cute is fine, but it’s annoying when some writers intentionally create airheads in their attempts to pander to that demographic (lookin’ at you, Kozue Amano).
>doesn’t know anything about Kozue Amano.
Despite your Western delusions, there is no such thing as “pandering to a demographic” in her or anyone’s works.
Don’t even fucking know who the airhead is your referring to. Akari from Aria? Just because she makes funny faces? Pikari from Amanchu!? Because she’s super happy? The fucking cats?
Go back to reading your gore-fest, friend.
I just prefer s♥♥t that isn’t boring.

Best first episode of this season
Nope. Clockwork Planet airs today.
Which reaffirms the point: “Best episode of this season”
