A crowdfunding campaign with the sole purpose of bringing Arcana Heart 3: Love Max Six Stars to the PC in the west has been announced, certain to have the oft neglected western hemisphere excited that a former Japan-exclusive title is headed its way for once.
Arcana Heart 3: Love Max Six Stars (an upgraded variant of Arcana Heart 3: Love Max) was released in 2014 for the PS3 and Vita and boasted a new character in addition to some balance changes, no doubt serving as the “ultimate” version for westerners to experience.
Should the project secure enough donations, the developers have stated that they will consider creating new characters and conjoin the stories from earlier Arcana Heart titles for a “collected edition follow up” – those looking to donate can do so at the official crowdfunding page.
This is most likely a *scam*, AH3LM can easily get patched to six stars, but instead just release a rehashed stand alone title with minor tweaks and a “extra” character.
I’m surprised an American/European company hasn’t licensed the game to do just that. I mean Ghostlight in the UK license random niche titles and port to PC inhouse. If a tiny company like this can do it, anyone can. You don’t need a crowdfunding page.
There’s also the fact that pledges don’t have to be fulfilled by people who create these pages. When you pledge, there’s always a risk you won’t get what you’ve pledged for. Thus the nature of crowdfunding. You’re basically donating towards a cause, hoping it succeeds so you get what they promise you.
If Xseed or the 3 other companies that bother translating this kind of niche stuff don’t pick it up there’s really nobody else that will.
Arcana Hearts battle system was kind of “anime fighter criticisms” to the max.
To even use an arcana required you to be in a certain state, then do the hokey pokey, recite 2 verses from the satanic bible in old latin, then say our name backwords 5 times while doing a jumping full cricle animation.
People struggle with Blaz Blue/Guilty Gear as it is, heh..
