Upcoming western FPS Quake Champions has seen even the Quake franchise succumbing to Dota’s “unique playable hero” route of game design, offering up a trailer featuring one of its champions and what all she can do – though many are doubting that the game will be able to compete with the might of Overwatch.
The trailer for “Nyx”, which reveals that heroes in the FPS may not be as complicated in comparison to other games (and nor as delicious):
A release date has yet to be announced, but a demo will be available at PAX East in Boston from March 10th to March 12th.

Anyhow I totally understand, I mean it seems neither Bethesda Softworks nor iD soft can take a hint after the failure that is DOOM multiplayer,, iD doesn’t have what it takes to make multiplayer games anymore (and this sounds kinda ironic to say because singleplayer is significantly harder, multiplayer is just more expensive due to server costs (unless it’s p2p) but much easier to make)
Since they can’t take a hint, they just become emo I guess.
Ugh.

But to be fair, we’ll have to see how it will turn out I do think someone needs to have the balls to change something to the old game. All Quake series after Q3 have been exactly the same formula and it doesnt work (besides QuakeLive) but thats literally a copy of Q3.
I just hope they don’t give “jobs” for this game. But Q3 is a fluke and has no business being in the franchise. Actually that whole thing is a mess. Q1 has nothing to do with the rest of them, Q4 is a sequel of Q2 and Q3 is just an online game that uses the same weapons, that’s it.
MOBA was created because game companies got pressured to stop saying “Dota like” when describing s♥♥t like LoL.
I prefer calling it what it really is, ASSFAGGOTS (Aeon of Strife Styled Fortress Assault Game Going On Two Sides)
hopefully they don’t go crazy on the abilities and leave it as a pure twitch FPS.
They changed Quake Live before it was released on steam to cater to a more casual audience and it is only vaguely related to Quake 3 anymore. I played it since their closed beta period and quit once they went onto steam, and still play Q2 and Q3 online to this day.
It really is a shame how Zenimax is running id’s old franchises into the ground. First it was the Quake Live changes, then the new Doom game which is little more than Quake 4 with “Brutal Doom” over the top gore nonsense, and now this.
Not to mention the lame ass policies like no cursing, and ads everywhere.
