A brand new Dragon Ball spin-off manga entitled “Dragon Ball Gaiden: Tensei-shitara Yamcha Datta Ken” has seen to the oft ridiculed Yamcha becoming the hero, an unprecedented turn of events that will seemingly be an impossibility if the franchise’s stronger characters (namely most of them) are still around.
The plot revolves around an ordinary high school boy who injures himself in an accident and ends up reincarnating as the hopeless Yamcha, with his only apparent goal being to make Yamcha the strongest hero possible – through by what means this will be accomplished has not been revealed.
The spin-off will be available through Shueisha’s Shounen Jump Plus:

Yamcha could be a thinking man’s hero, where he uses cheap tricks and dirty tactics like Mr. Satan to keep the appearance of his invincible strength despite not possessing any.
The thinking man in the dragonball universe will rush to get a wish for saiyan genetics. No, not a body swap like Zamasu did, that just invites trouble. You just want to splice in those sweet monkey genes so you can have a chance at staying relevant long term.
I should also add that this doesn’t preclude cheap tricks and dirty tactics, but you want to actually have that genuine power to fall back on.
What is funny is Yamcha probably could have not been a joke if he hadn’t been arrogant and took his eye off the Saibaman.
To be fair it because of Toriyama.
It’s his decision that Yamcha is made into a joke that he his.
After seeing screenshots from the baseball episode I was thinking it would be interesting to see what things would have been like if things worked out better for Yamcha.
finally, the only good male character gets his due
