Black Rain Plagues China

Black-Rain-China-3

Residents living in Hangzhou have expressed extreme discontent over a rather disgusting shower of rainfall which soaked the entire region in black filth, an event that has surprised few considering the grotesque amount of pollution the nation is so sadly known for.

Leaving behind what seemed like some kind of odious residue, the rain coated everything it touched in a sheet of black grunge:

Black-Rain-China-1

Black-Rain-China-2

Even when the rain had dissipated, citizens stated they could still see black powder floating in the air, something further to worry about.

The local environmental protection bureau claimed that the revolting rain was caused by contamination at a nearby “abandoned factory”, where a work crew had apparently broken a tank, ejecting petroleum powder into the air and further clogging China’s already putrid skies – citizens have been assured that the powder however is not hazardous, so all is peachy as usual in the glorious middle kingdom.

It's petroleum based so my guess is that is is flammable. Now just wait for it to dry up a bit and add a little spark and watch the whole place explode into a ball of fire.

Obviously it doesn't work like that. It's even worse though - this shit will stay in the environment and gets kicked up with every little gust of wind. And of course, it'll get into people's lungs. Which is fine, if you're an old fuckhead. But if kids get enough of this gunk into their system, it'll cripple them for life.

Which is also good, I guess, because the only way that China will stop poisoning its own population is when they're all dead. lel.

What a terrible way of thinking. I'd never wish misfortune on others, particularly millions who simply suffering from a crappy government and a society desperate to catch up with the rest of the world.

Why are you glad that millions upon millions of citizens (children included), who cannot even control what their government at large can and cannot do, suffer from the ill effects of pollution?

And furthermore, why are you so stupid that you can't even realize that what happens in one part of the world concerning pollution affects US ALL on this planet?

What a terrible person you must be.

Ehhh. It's up to the citizenry to rise up to its own government. Look how well that worked in the Arabic world! And given China's history in dealing with human rights, it'll be fine. Everything is fine.

Seriously though, I can't feel too bad about people that want to live in such a dystopian environment. We'll see how they are coping in another few decades - they'll either all be dead from exploding office chairs, cooking oil made from raw sewage or pollution or they'll have gotten their shit together and joined the rest of humanity in the modern world.

Can't you read? Nobody's claimed the US is more pollutant than China. The person said, America may follow.

The US is not the leaders of pollution, but we're up there in top ranking.

Ironically, the US is also a leader in producing greener technology. Better late than never, I suppose.

Though, under Trump, well, that may be challenged, to say the least.

Yeah hopefully Trump will give a kick back to his corporate buddies after raising taxes on the lazy welfare leaches, and cut environmental regulations so companies like this one can flourish. I'm so sick of those stupid liberals whining about the environment, I can wait till there's black toxic rain in the US so I can see the look on the liberals faces!

This is from Trumps official website:
"We will get the bureaucracy out of the way of innovation, so we can pursue all forms of energy. This includes renewable energies and the technologies of the future. It includes nuclear, wind and solar energy - but not to the exclusion of other energy."

i.e. It's an "all of the above" strategy.

His goal is to accomplish "American energy independence" and he knows that a mix of sources is required.

Trumps approach resonates better with the public, mainly because he is proposing self-sufficiency as the reason you need renewables, not "muh climate change".

    @00:50

That first sentence makes you sound like one of those edgy libtards. Fugging stob it :P I'll put some faith in you since we share common interests (i.e. fapping to anime girls)....

Trump knows plenty. You're ignoring the point that I'm making: That he could possibly frame this infrastructure boom as something more palatable to the country.

I care about the environment btw, but there's no way I'm going to keyboard warrior everyone with "muh science" because it doesn't work. Trump's "all of the above" strategy will see the start of companies venturing into renewables. You can't get them to go cold turkey like many SJWs want. In reality, corporations need to phase into renewables and make profits along the way, otherwise they just wont budge. I know of one such corporation that is starting an "experimental" green energy project (that will power a few neighborhoods). They call it "experimental" in their company reports so as not to spook their shareholders into thinking that they are "buying the climate change crap". Trump would know of this tactic.

If your president pursues all energy options equally to attain energy independence (why? You guys have been making Canada your bitch for decades by importing their oil yet you somehow "feel like" youre their bitch, so now you want out?) then obviously the most economical will win out, which is coal and oil. To start making green energy #1 it requires support and regulation or else the effort is useless. Plus he's promised to return America to the early 1900s by bringing back coal "jobs" (as if they even require humans to operate anymore).

US uses china to manufacture their goods for cheap while china destroys themselves for the sake of money, in the long run china wont become anything US will have to worry about. let them take our jobs, theyre just diggin a deeper hole. the poor stay and die while the rich flee to US and spend their money here, we get our money back

    Comment by Anonymous
    23:28 18/11/2016 # ! Neutral (0)

Not quite accurate... the rich have their money in tax havens, so the majority of tax you can collect from them is limited to consumption taxes. Also, they don't all go to the US. Look at Canada, New Zealand and Australia - they have growing asian populations. Further more, they are driving real estate prices massively in the cities they settle in, pricing out the locals (due to increased demand and Chinese migrants paying 2x the reserve price on the first bid).

Also, the technology stays in China, meaning that the west no longer have the expertise to build their own things if they ever need to. Western locals become more dependent on the rat race as SME potential is driven down. Eventually when automation fully kicks in, it will be China who will be in the prime position to gain from the technology. The west is "Trading Places" with China.

I could go on, but I think I've already shown you enough dimensions of the problem that you were not aware of.

China's also ahead of the curve when it comes to the most important future tech that'll change humanity. Its mostly thanks to them that solar panels are getting affordable now. Soon we're gonna see the US and much of thd west going in the opposite direction against history as China takes advantage of the lack of competition.

Easy--they've little choice. That's an absurd question. As if most Chinese live in China or in these conditions by choice.

How can 1 billion people suddenly uproot and leave their rather oppressive nation, to find lives elsewhere, in other parts of the world that have their own population-related issues?

You mean, like the US and Europe (which still sees some issue with high air pollution, thanks to Russia)? Don't celebrate too soon. If the developing world pollutes, it's only imitating the long histories of the US and Europe.

Don't blame it on one nation. Blame it on collective selfish human nature. Because while your nation might be cleaner today, the damage has already been long done to the Earth your yesterday.

when it come's to air pollution, they must make a law related to clean air, like Clean Air Act in the Philippines, those vehicles who failed the emission test will revoke their driver's license & never drive again EVER.

Chinese people don't mind producing problems for others. It only becomes a problem if they (or, maybe, their families) are affected.

A Chinese will look at the prisoner's dilemma and laugh, because the answer is obvious to them.
