Kimi no Na wa (the fourth highest-grossing anime film in Japan) will be arriving in western theaters soon thanks to Funimation, naturally prompting the release of a teaser for the film’s English dub – though thankfully the film will also debut with subtitles for the many who will likely not be particularly fond of the dub.
The English dub trailer:
Funimation will begin its first run of the revered film on December 2nd through December 8th in Los Angeles and is planning a broader release in early 2017; exclusive screenings will also take place in the UK and Ireland on November 18th courtesy of Anime Limited.
Got a chance to watch it during anime expo. Its worth the watch and very emotional movie.
watched it as well, but def not this dub s♥♥t. mitsuha va sounds like another whiny anime girl. so tired of fucking terrible dubs.
Going to watch it this week on the 18th. Already got tickets.
OMG! Heroine’s VA is SO bad! She isn’t even trying..
dubs are s♥♥t, what did you expect
That’s a shame. The Japanese heroine VA is really good, as far as I can tell. She was a newbie, too.
I’ve seen SO much worse that I don’t care. And at least she has the voice of a kid.
Yeah, of the two, the male VA is actually passable.
I’ll watch it but if there isn’t a l♥♥i I can fap to later or a shower/nude scene
I’m going to be pissed
Is this movie any good? Looks a little bit like s♥♥t..
Shinkai’s movies are all the same.
I’ve seen two of Shinkai’s past films and really didn’t like them, but I ended up liking this film a lot. Enough to watch it multiple times. The pacing is a little odd and very rushed in some areas (there’s a lot of information to deliver), but it’s well-written and visually stunning from start to finish.
I worry that some parts may not be as relatable to non-Japanese audiences.
Sorry, even Thai people like me who have seen Kimi No Na Wa at the cinema has to say that they want to watch this animation movie once again – at this time with girlfriends (or boyfriends for those lonely females), never watch this animation alone anymore.
I’ve seen it already 4 times in Japan, and it’s asolutely breathtaking.
It is good. It’s very beautiful and emotional. Plus, the soundtrack is amazing.
But don’t expect any real character development or anything really deep, though.
Very good IMHO, with some reservations in terms of the storyboard. Visuals and sounds are amazing though.
