Engaging tank girl anime Girls Und Panzer has announced that “Girls Und Panzer: Final Chapter” will be a 6-part OVA series, bound to have many upset over the potential conclusion of the unique franchise and leaving many bewildered as to what they could possibly replace it with…
The news was announced at a stage event for the 20th Oarai Anglerfish Festival in Ibaraki and little has been mentioned in regards to what the OVA will focus on, though hopefully the show’s main girls will be able to persevere through whatever hardship they are dealt.

They say to be a series, and now say to be a bunch of ovas??? welll i expect to at least have a good quality like the movie.

Of course the best is new 26 episodes plus 6 OVAs and 2 movies. If so I can give as many years for the animation team they want.
Note that there are news that Actas Studio that produce this show is tortured and squeezed till the last drop after made the last movie by the director Mizushima and pretty much torn away. Not sure if Actas Studio will still handle this work.

Given the history of delays throughout this series’ creation, it’ll probably make more sense to wait for the release of the final part before watching any of them.

I’m not sure I could believe this will be the end. The Girls Und Panzer movie sold over 240,000 copies on Blu Ray and was a massive hit in cinemas. How can any studio give up on a sure thing in terms of $$$$? Especially given that the vast majority of anime shows released every season flop, very few are successful.
The series was much better than the overrated movie. I hope this OVA won’t go further down.

You are pretty alone with your opinion. The movie was one of the best animated films in recents years. Lots of action, fast pacing and great jokes. What’s not to like here? Yes, the enemy this time was a bit bland but I didn’t really want to see the enemy, I wanted to see Duce and Kaichou.
Great jokes? I laughed a lot more during the series. And the series had a few things that became iconic by now.
